What you'll do

During two and a half hours of our experience, we will walk along a slope where we will see the different types of plants representative of the area. We will make stops to see with binoculars the colors that contrast on one side the sea and on the other the desert. Upon reaching the top of our destination we will see the entire city of La Paz and its bay. We will wait for the sunset and we will marvel at what happens with the natural environment when the sun goes down. Like seeing the birds return to their nests. Later we will go down to see the moon or the brightness of the stars in a large sky vault and with the help of a star chart define some constellations and try to take some pictures and finish our walk. No matter the level of experience what we are looking for is that you take a magical memory of this unique view of the beautiful pearl of La Paz and of the spectacular that shows the starry sky of the Baja California desert.
Other things to note
Depending on the time of year; The walk can be very demanding because of the sun or the heat that can be felt. Everyone can do it in more or less time based on their physical condition.

I am a biologist and instructor of outdoor activities and founder of Up 100 La Paz México. For 35 years I have been doing and teaching outdoor activities throughout the Mexican Republic in different levels of intensity, I love to contemplate nature, without impacting the environment and capture what more beautiful at the moment, because I have developed different conservation projects and I know how to show you that passion. The city of La Paz captivated me because it is surrounded by sea and desert, it will catch you because I will show you from the most strategic parts of the city.

Super amazing a casual experience exploring the Calavera and learning about the plant life of La Paz. Saúl is an amazing host and very knowledgeable about the area, explaining different things on the way up. The view is so magical and the colors of the sunset are even more visible from the top of the hill. Definitely recommend!

La Paz has some good hiking options, but they aren't obvious to outsiders. Saúl helped us learn how to access some trails at nearby Cerro de la Calavera and introduced us to easy, medium, and more difficult routes. And a sunset hike was a perfect way to end the day and get outside in the cooler hours of the day. We had a great time and a fantastic view! Saúl also offered loads of tips on La Paz food, beaches, hiking, and other activities.
