Beeman Michael Cainero is an ethical beekeeper with a big passion for honeybees and the role they play in the environment. Join us on a beekeeping experience to discover more about the exciting world of this most complex and productive insect, and enjoy a hands-on exploration inside a hive of honeybees at our bee yard (apiary).

Discover how our 100,000 bees gather pollen from native trees and plants, herbs and flowers, making honey, pollinating fruits and veggies.

The experience:

Introduction, welcome and refreshments

Wearing a bee suit and gloves to meet live honeybees, see inside the hives and understand how it works

How honey is harvested

The do’s and don’ts of beekeeping - and how you can you help save the bees

Together with Beeman Michael Cainero, you are invited to a fascinating morning among the beehives on this beautiful rural home property. Discover the age-old, sustainable, natural and organic beekeeping methods, and taste the highest quality raw honey.

Angela is a Clean Tech speaker (National Clean Tech Conference), and can provide a tour of the laidback lifestyle at the only bamboo plantation near the beach: 42 beautiful acres, off-grid with solar power and batteries equivalent to 10 Tesla powerbanks, rainwater capture & grey water recycling, organic gardening and farming.

Where you'll be

You will be welcomed with a refreshing drink and presentation of the program.

We will begin in the barn and then Beeman Michael Cainero the beekeeper will take us to the hives for an introduction to his bees here at Bamboo Park, and a honey tasting

Things to know

Cancellation policy

Any experience can be canceled and fully refunded within 24 hours of purchase, or at least 7 days before the experience starts.

Government ID

You’ll need to take a picture of yourself that matches the photo on your ID. This is so Airbnb can confirm who’s actually going on the experience. You’ll only have to do this once.

Guest requirements

Up to 8 guests ages 10 and up can attend. Parents may also bring children under 2 years of age.

What to bring

Sun hat, water bottle, wear or bring a long sleeved top, long trousers, and closed-in shoes. If you have gloves, bring these as well - but we provide gloves if you don't bring these.
