What you'll do

For our tour, we will meet at the Milk and Honey Market at 10 E. Lanvale st., a cafe with street parking out front and a parking lot around the corner. Be sure to pay for parking for 2.5 hours. Feel free to arrive early to caffeinate and grab a bite if you like. After guests have checked in, we will then walk to about 60 points of interest, seeing quite a bit of street art, but also learning the history of this often overlooked urban landscape. We will enjoy a walking a loop of about 2.5 miles with a small pit stop towards the end for refreshment before heading back to milk and honey market. On this walk, we will enjoy the alleyways, parks, and farms of the often underrated, but constantly surprising revitalized neighborhood of Station North Arts & Entertainment District. Locals and travelers alike will enjoy this very instagrammable look at a gem of a neighborhood. Depending on the size of the group and speed of walking the time for finishing might be slightly later. There are periodical trivia questions and easter eggs hidden along the way - be ready to get competitive and rewarded with candy! If you don't see a time and date that works for you and your party - please reach out to me and let's set something up!

Liz

Hello! I’m Liz and welcome to Bmore! My love affair with the art of Bawl-mer (Baltimore) started 15 years ago when I transplanted here from Michigan. The artistically inclined daughter of a professional illustrator, I was immediately taken with the arts hub of station north. Living here, I was able to witness firsthand the birth of these astounding murals. Professional hip hop choreographer, teaching artist in west baltimore and a grad student at Maryland Institute College of Art (a top-ten art school) uniquely qualifies me to share about how public art revitalizes a city and enriches us all.

This tour will reveal the tightly knit fabric of the community in which these murals went up. We will learn about the movement that put up the bulk of the artwork, as well as the major players behind it. Tour goers will understand many of the components involved in putting a mural up, as well as the questionable legalities.
