About your host

I’m the builder and primary steward of the Green Mountain Trails, the premier cross country mtb trail system in central Vermont. I’ve been building and enhancing flowy singletrack here in enchanting Pittsfield for the last decade. It’s the ultimate pleasure to host tours and see riders enjoy our masterpiece.

What we’ll do

We will ride to a stone hut known as Shrek’s on top of the trails via beautiful switchbacked singletrack to awe inspiring, panoramic Green Mountain views. On our thousand foot descent we have the option to ride rollicking, old school but flowy trails on the far side of South Hill or stick to easier terrain on our way to Muddy’s Hut, a unique trailside watering hole, where we will eat lunch…

What else you should know

Intermediate mtn bike skills and good physical fitness recommended. Be prepared for over a thousand feet of climbing and narrow trails with some technical sections.

What I’ll provide

Food
I will provide a locally purveyed lunch according to your dietary needs and preferences.

What to bring

Mountain Bike
Helmet
Water
Energy food
Insect repellent

Where you'll be

We will wind our way 1000 feet up to Shrek’s, a stone hut overlooking one of the best panoramic views in Vermont, before riding an epic downhill route to Muddy’s, a camp, watering hole, and “spokeasy” saloon crafted out of bike parts and former trail bridges.
