And hear the origins of the city from the arrival of the Celts around 500 BC(e) After exploring the Belfast City hall area. We'll discover the Linen Quarter and hear of it's past present and future. And then dander(walk) on to discover the River Farset( Béal Féirste – meaning the mouth of the Farset) And the entries that lead to it. We'll pass the mouth of the river Blackstaff, before reaching the River Lagan. The only one of the three we can see today. Pausing to see and hear of some of the landmarks we can view from here. On past the Statue of Harmony, Albert Memorial Clock and Big Fish (Salmon of Knowledge) We'll view The Titanic Belfast Centre. Birthplace to the Titanic. Born in Belfast. I'm a qualified Horticulturist(Gardener). Lived in London 10 years. Have travelled to Japan, New Zealand, and Australia. And through many countries in Europe. Taught English as a foreign language, in Spain and Germany.
On returning to Northern Ireland I qualified as a expert tour guide while showing guests Belfast with a International Youth Hostel. And for the last 3 years I have been creating unique experiences for both locals and visitors to Belfast.
So if your first language is not English, I'll do my best to help you improve, while we walk the streets of the city centre. Show you where to take the best photos of the well known sites we'll pass. Yes I've studied photography too.
I love to show visitors around the city I have grown to admire. One of 14 children I have amassed a lot of different interests.

Where you'll be

On this tour, we will explore Belfast City Centre. The Historical heart of the City. And view how Belfast has blended the Historical with the New Architecturally. We'll also gain access to some buildings others may not enter. And get a unique perspective of Street Art that tells the history of the city on it's walls. And of course see many landmarks Belfast is now known for, like the Big Fish, Albert Clock, St. Annes Cathedral and City Hall.

What an awesome tour! Marti is a great tour guide and has a lot of knowledge about Belfast city (and other places in the world). It was just myself on the tour but Marti is such a welcoming and friendly guy that it felt like I was walking around with a new friend seeing and learning about their beautiful city from a personal level. Marti really cared about giving a first class tour and also gave great advice for the perfect photos. I had walked around Belfast the day before but after the tour with Marti, I now see the true beauty of Belfast city in a way that I wouldn’t have on my own - what a place! Would 100% recommend a tour with Marti if you’re travelling to Belfast - solo or in a group.

I had the opportunity of having Marti all to myself during my walking exploration of Belfast and the experience can only be described as a fantastic one! Everything from his exceptional knowledge and friendliness, to the really interesting path/route he changed and adapted according to what I had already seen in the city, to the fantastic people we met on our journey... The only downside was having to end the tour as I could have spent the entire day walking the streets and pubs of Belfast and hear all about the history of more and more places. I will definitely have to go back and will for sure join you on the other tours you have installed for us Marti! Thank you for making the end of my short getaway so interesting. Definitely recommend :)

Marti is a very funny and charismatic guide. He has deep knowledge about the city and its history and will bring you to see and experience places that only a true local would know. If you like to know more about the city rather than just doing typical tourist stuff, then this tour is a must go. If I ever come back to Belfast I'd definitely do more tours with Marti!

Marti was cool and quirky! He has extensive knowledge of Ireland's history and was able to weave that throughout our tour with his stories about all the spots he took us to. An exceptional value seeing lots of places in just a little over 2 hours.
