What you'll do
Sunrise Hill walk followed by Breakfast with the most amazing views. We will walk up the John Britten Reserve and enjoy as we go up, plenty of stops to take in the stunning panorama views and take photos. Then we have a beautiful spot for you to enjoy tea and croissants with the most amazing view of the sun rising and a sneaky glass of a New Zealand wine. This is followed by an option to walk some of the Summit Road that was damaged in the 2011 earthquake and is now only open to walkers and bikers and another stop to look out over to the Lyttelton Port. You will have amazing views of both sides looking down to Lyttelton and also out over Christchurch City. We walk back to John Britten Reserve and by this time, the stunning views of the Southern Alps will appear. Reasonable fitness needed but am happy to accommodate the not so fit by driving up or stopping more. Allow 3 hours to be safe ( usually around 2 hours) ✔ walk up the hill is about 30 to 45 minutes ✔Breakfast of tea and croissants with stunning views and chat is around 20 to 30 minutes ✔Photo opportunity with the sun rising and a glass of bubbles in your hand ✔Along the Summit Road is around 30 minutes ✔Walk back down the hill is around 20 to 30 minutes
My love of travel and seeking out local activities whilst away has lead me to offer a more local experience on my own doorstep away from the usual tourist activities. I walked the Camino de Santiago - the Portegeous way and loved it. I also did some Airbnb experiences and found doing something with local people and local knowledge was amazing so want to offer it here in Christchurch. PLEASE DO NOT WORRY ABOUT YOUR FITNESS as we have enough stops for sharing of information. No one feels like they are lagging behind, although you do need to be able to be steady on your feet. If you are wanting to just have the breakfast and wine with the sunrise and no uphill walk, please let me know and we can arrange for you to meet us at the location, good option for elderly parents or those in recovery from illness/injury

Where you'll be
We will be outside for all of the trips and can still do this in the rain as we have the option to have breakfast in my home which has stunning views over the estuary and Kaikoura's. The road that is damaged gives us time to stop and reflect on what Christchurch has been through with the 2011 earthquake and just our devastating it was
