We had so much fun. We had our 2 year old with us, and Phillipe did a great job of engaging with her. We learned how to make fettuccine and a couple other shapes, including farfalle. I definitely think we will be making more pasta this way!

Great time of learning how to make pasta with friends and family. I would recommend that all participants have their device close to them so they can hear instructions as it’s easy to miss hearing if you make noises with your cookware or accidentally speak to someone in your group while Phillipe is giving instructions m then you might miss an instruction. Kudos to Phillipe for being able to teach a cooking class over zoom! It must not be easy!

Phillipe was very knowledgeable about pasta making. Even though my boyfriend and I have experience making pasta, we still learned a lot about the dough making process. Once it came time to put the pasta in the water, things felt extremely rushed. This class is only an hour, so adding an extra half hour to the course would really help things to feel more calm. Our pasta was a little thicker, so our required a little extra time to cook. However, we had to remove it early to start making the sauce. At the end, Phillipe showed the participants how to make a few other styles of pasta, but this too was rushed. An hour and a half would make this course better.

For those of us not in Italy, Phillipe's class offers a great, personal, and efficient experience on US-centric time! Loved his patience and storytelling and really appreciated his attention to detail throughout. Will definitely be trying to take another class soon.

This was the second cooking class I've taken through Airbnb and compared to the first class I took with a different host (which was excellent) this one was just okay. Philippe did not send us the ingredients until an hour before class first of all -- one of the ingredients is semolina flour..... this isn't something I have just lying around, so would have appreciated more time to prepare. Also, his camera was on him, so it was hard to see if we were doing all the steps right. Finally, once the pasta dough was formed, several people started asking questions about their dough being too sticky/too dry/too something, and his response was that it was too late. Also, my aunt joined this as a family event -- she was having trouble with her Zoom and he made no effort to help her and quite frankly seemed annoyed that she was having difficulty with her audio and video. It's a cheap class, and you get fresh pasta, but the experience is not one I would recommend.

It felt like the class was rushed and not detailed. We didn’t get any ingredients or specific instructions until the night before, even though messages had been sent asking questions prior to that. We ended up making Cacio è Pepe, but I don’t like pepper, so if I had known beforehand then I would have prepared my own sauce. My great aunt was having trouble with the technology so the host kind of just wrote her off, granted technology is difficult. It really felt like the host had done little to no virtual teaching. It’s a learning curve, for sure, but didn’t make for a great experience. It would have been nice to have the host get to know the group a little more, and take more time to make sure everybody is on the same page, monitoring progress and such, all of which we had experienced in our last top chef cooking class. It was fine but not at all what we expected, I guess the bar was just set high by the last chef we worked with.
