What you'll do

Discover the cultural richness of Warsaw’s Praga. That district located just across the Vistula river from Warsaw’s Old Town, has a centuries old history and escaped major devastation during World War II. Originally founded as an independent town, Praga traditionally served as the multicultural home for Catholics, Jews, and Orthodox Christians.

Today Praga is experiencing its renaissance and is well regarded for its artists and craftsmen, alternative culture, and interesting real estate projects. Praga is often overlooked by foreign visitors, and locals, but it offers a special vibe and charm while walking its streets among locals who have been living here for many generations.

My name is Łukasz Godlewski, and I am a licensed guide in Warsaw. I’m a Varsovian of several generations. My great-grandparents were married on Grzybowski Square in the All Saints Church, my great grandfather was a photographer on Chmielna Street, and after the war his studio was in a converted tramcar which is now Dmowskiego Roundabout and the center of Warsaw.

I studied Cross Culture Psychology. I completed my course to become a Warsaw City Guide at PTTK, the oldest Polish guiding organization which has been training guides dating back to 1946. I love history, music and photography :-)
