What you'll do

Take a scenic drive out into the foothills and meet me at an easily accessible parking lot to organize the day. There I will supply you with all the safety gear needed for climbing. Depending on the weather and the group's ambitions, I will determine what is the best crag and we will shortly drive over. Most crags will be less than a 10 minute drive from our meet up spot, and will require short hikes.

Once we are at the base of the rock, we will go ahead and discuss the basics of rock climbing. I'll cater the discussion to your knowledge and interests. Then we will go ahead and set up fun climbs for you to enjoy. Differently skilled individuals can climb different routes, and everyone can push themselves as hard or as easy as they'd like. Whether you'd like to learn about the basics of belaying, climbing technique, placing gear, building anchors, or any other aspect that you are interested in, we'll make sure you walk away satisfied.

Naturally we will take photos throughout the session for your current (or future) grandkids.

The day will fly by. We will then coil the ropes, sort the gear, and head home with stories to share.
Other things to note
Please let me know your experience level and what you'd like to accomplish beforehand to help me plan the trip. Also if you have any medical issues or dietary constraints, please let me know.

I am an avid rock climber and new route developer in the front range of Colorado. I have numerous first ascents in the area, and always am on the lookout for new unclimbed rock. No matter where climbing takes me and how hard I push myself, some of my favorite days are spent guiding others and witnessing new climbers fall in love with the sport.

Where you'll be

Some crags will require nice hikes through wildflower speckled meadows, and some will be right off the road. It all depends on the day (Colorado weather is fickle after all) and the ambitions of the group. Some areas have been developed by myself, and most are unknown by the typical Colorado climber. On the busiest front range day we'll find quiet, friendly, uncrowded rock.

For a total beginner with 0 experience and a fear of heights, this was fun! Was able to climb all the way with Adam's guidance and I felt pretty safe. We practiced falling from the start and that made me feel familiar with the harness and grigri. The dog Gretel is the sweetest and she made this extra special.

This activity is very weather dependent. Adam had multiple locations in mind due to the snow while I was in CO. He was very knowledgeable and experienced. Safety was his #1 goal and there was not a moment I felt unsafe. Overall a very fun experience. This experience is meant to push yourself mentally and physically.

Adam has "superior" equipment and I like that he knows some good spots to climb when the others are too crowded. But try your best not to get too attached to Grettel his beautiful dog. And don't be like me, bring a snack.👌🏾🙂

It was the first time my boyfriend and I went rock climbing and it was amazing. Adam explained everything really well and chose a great spot with unbelievable views.

This experience was so amazing! Adam is extremely knowledgable about climbing, and more than happy to share what he knows. He made me feel safe and confident in my climbs, offered great tips, and brought along his friendly and beautiful dog Gretel. Adam was easy to talk to, as well as indulged me in getting some great photos mid climb. Would absolutely climb with Adam again!

This is a great experience for any one who wants to try outdoor rock climbing or someone who has experience but not in the Colorado area. Adam knows so much about the sport and the area and was so helpful adjusting the routes for two very different skill/experience levels. It’s a great value for the price as you will learn so much and have an amazing experience!
