What you'll do
An experience to know the current social and political situation of Catalonia. The experience is carried out in GIRONA, the heart of the independence movement. A way to know Girona, an historical and lovely city, from another perspective. You'll learn about political institutions in the city, local activists and politicians, experts in the field, polling stations where the Referendum took place on October 1st, the yellow ribbons hanging on the street and, more broadly, all the details of the Catalan movement. From the meeting point we'll visit the City Hall and meet with Mayor * and/or councilors related to the independence process. *(Depending on the mayoress's agenda). Then, we'll visit the delegation of the Catalan Government in Girona. After that, we'll visit the headquarters of the civil organizations that have promoted the social movement. Now it's time to do a tour called 1st of October Referendum (polling stations where took place the outlawed Rerendum, squares and other symbols). We are going to finish the experience drinking something and so we can talk about the subject in a more calm way.
Hello! I am Dolors and I've decided to offer this experience to explain in a neutral way why some of the current symbols in the city of Girona (banners, yellow bows, flags, etc.). I can offer a grounded vision and explanation since I have studied political science, also tourism, I have worked in public institutions and I know people and entities related to the current political and social movement in Catalonia.
