What you'll do

Our walking tour starts at the entrance of the greenfield site of Tour & Taxis. This old industrial complex in the lesser-known Canal area of Brussels was falling apart just a decade ago but is now housing some of the capital's most exciting start-ups and citizen initiatives. You'll discover an underground urban farm, citizen gardens, a zero waste shop, urban revitalization, and so much more. And of course... you'll get to taste some local and sustainable beer too!

Looking for answers on how to live life with a smaller footprint? The projects we'll visit are guaranteed to give you new ideas and a fresh perspective. On our walk, you will discover a blend of industrial heritage and urban ecology, in an area that most 'Brusseleirs' (people from Brussels) don't even know about. Elias will show you some of the most inspiring projects of the urban sustainability scene, and you'll get to meet some of their founders too.

Let our tour inspire you to turn your own talents in a motor for positive change while exploring the Belgian capital in a new and fun way!

Note: this tour is the result of a redesign of our original and much-beloved tour, to guarantee the safety of all our participants! We spend a lot of time outside, and the indoor spaces we visit are roomy enough to maintain the distancing rules.

This tour was my favourite walking tour ever! We got to know so many different aspects of Brussels that we would’ve never discovered on our own! We got to see a different side of Brussels and learn something about sustainability at the same time! I can only recommend this tour! ☺️

Very interesting tour, in an interactive way. When you are interested in sustainability, ecology and circularity then this is a very good tour. With a guide who has the knowledge and background and is really easygoing. I would really recommend it.

Elias was an excellent guide, he knew quite a few anecdotes about the places he showed us and he created a very friendly atmosphere for the group. We discovered new cool places with meaningful sustainable projects and it definitely inspired us to keep on looking for others in the city. All in all it was a very nice experience!

It was a truely great walk around points of sustainable business. Along with other nice people we have learnt about beautiful projects and products made in Belgium. It was a nice opportunity to learn how to make sustainabe business right from the owners of that business. And of course, nice chat with with juice and cookies kindly provided by Elias made this experience warm and friendly.
