What you'll do

FORGOTTEN WORLD HIGHWAY - DAY TRIP
This is a driving tour entirely on Forgotten World Highway SH43, stopping at the places listed, extra photo stops and food stops as outlined.
It is designed for people who do not have their own vehicle or prefer to have the knowledge of a local guide.
Leave Stratford at 9am and travel to view the 160m Makahu Tunnel then onto TeWera for morning tea and learn about historical railway history. After morning tea we visit the 74m Mt Damper Waterfall (2km easy grade walk is required to view falls) and Tangarakau Gorge, an amazing natural native bush area. Our picnic style lunch will be in a remote location.
On the return trip to Stratford we will stop at the historic Whangamomona Hotel and enjoy a stroll around the village, returning to Stratford at 4:30pm.

I have lived my entire life in Taranaki. My father was a great outdoor man and I have enjoyed the outdoors all my life.
Taranaki is an amazing place to live surrounded by nature environment of mountain, rivers, waterfalls, lakes and green hills.
My natural love of people and the outdoors led me to become a self employed tour operator. I am a fully licenced tour operator, this means I carry all the correct driving licences and certificates required. I am first aid trained. As part of our business I now operate Digs' Homestay that is listed on Airbnb
