What we’ll do

We start with a short demonstration, giving an overview how to use the potter's wheel. Then we all get to work - go at your own pace - explore some of the basic pottery forms such as the cup, the plate, the vase. Rather than leading everyone step-by-step to a specific outcome, our classes allow for exploration & improvisation. As with any art, the best works in clay are often mistakes or surprises…

What else you should know

Let us know if some in your group would be 7 years old or younger & we can design alternate methods for working with clay - the potter's wheel is most fun for those 8 years old & up.

Where you'll be

Classes are typically two-hours in length though this is flexible. The time is spent in the pottery studio here at the Lena Street Lofts, a unique live-work neighborhood close to downtown Santa Fe. We are next door to a fantastic cafe & coffee roaster.
