Meet your host, Shairazi

Kuala Lumpur born, I grew up in a big family of 11 siblings. Growing up I have always helped my mother in the kitchen to prepare food for the family. I moved to Sydney to study, where I had been cooking for my Malaysian friends who missed food from home. After graduating, I took up apprenticeship in Sydney to become a chef... and worked in great restaurants in Sydney such as Cafe Kasturi, Red Lantern, Est. and China Doll for 7 years. During these times, I had the opportunity to reconnect with food from my culture and master them.
