I am so glad we selected Alejandro as our guide. He lives just a few minutes from the Teotihuacan pyramids and has indigenous roots here. His knowledge of the history and culture is profound, and he weaves in personal stories as he relays the history. He took us to a local restaurant for a lovely lunch after the tour. And then a real highlight was the visit to his home afterward, where we met his dogs and some of his family members while he showed us where he makes cacao. (And we were able to taste and purchase some as well!)

Book this tour! It was so unique to experience Teotihuacán with a local. Alex has a wealth of firsthand and ancestral knowledge about history, food, religion and culture to give you the full context. We really enjoyed our tour and learning from Alex. He took us to a local restaurant afree the pyramids and let us try cacao, as well as pulque from a nearby agave farm. I doubt there is any other tour like this one! Would highly recommend.
