I am a Colombian lawyer based in Medellín, Colombia. I own property and horses and love nature. My work and endless curiosity have taken me to the most wonderful locations, moments and experiences available in Medellín, Antioquia and its surrounding areas. I began organizing small mountain getaways for foreign friends from the UK, by now I have a great experience not only guiding friends and clients through wonderful journeys but also providing fresh new ideas to all types of travelers looking to know the underground, the unpolished and the hidden aspect of our wonderful state of Antioquia.

The horse riding itself was spectacular! Transportation was not included (additional cost), getting there and back is not exactly easy (especially going back!), the place is hard to find once you get the address (not the one in the description), it lasted 2 less and lunch was not included (at all).

I had a really nice day on horse back in the country side! Juan Guillermo employs local teenagers to take you as the guide into the mountains and the lunch spot has a great view. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it if you want a day of quiet contemplation and stunning views. My only comment would be that because the guide is so young he wasn't equipped to answer questions about the locale or the different plants in the area. Definitely factor in the cost of transport when booking, if you want to take taxis it can be up to $60 round trip.

This experience was fun, relaxing and unique. Seeing the beautiful Antioquia landscape and people from the back of a horse, your own horse for the day, was truly wonderful. We won't soon forget it.

What an AMAZING experience, the view was everything you could ask for. The only issue is no one speaks English on site, please download Google Translation (it will help). Besides that, my guide was great and let me know about the area during our ride. He was a great guide, and got me wanting to ride horses. I will be back in few months and definitely will come back to ride again. Almost forgot, thank you Juan for letting me makeup my session. I am truly grateful, thank you for a wonderful experience

Upon our arrival, Juan wasn't there. None of the people working with the horses knew who he was. After a half an hour he arrived. We contacted him the day before and he assured us our arrival time was good. However, the horses weren't ready and there was no available guide for the next 4 hours. He ended up finding a 12 year old on a nearby playground who didn't speak any English to lead our tour. The kid also didn't know Juan. We were told we had multiple route options and the boy would ask us where and how long we wanted to ride. We were never given options. Thank goodness my girlfriend speaks Spanish or else we literally wouldn't have talked to the kid for the whole trip. Once arriving at the restaurant, nobody was there. We waited for an hour and then a woman showed up and began cooking for us. We were never given a meal option, or asked what we wanted to drink. We just drank the water we were given at the begining. We received a sausage, some fries, and a fried banana. For such an expensive tour, I was expecting much more. Then the boy took us back on a small road with a lot of road traffic. Huge busses kept driving by, honking their horns. Our horses all began to panic. The boy even got thrown off once and hurt his ankle. The last 15 minutes I had to get off and simply walk my horse because it was so agitated. And then we got to pay 90,000 pesos for a taxi home. The views were great, but everything Juan could have done to make the experience good, he ruined. You could book a much better tour at a much better price. THE REASON I PAID MORE WAS FOR ORGANIZATION. NOT AN EXPLOITED 12 YEAR OLD AND SOME FRIES ON A MOUNTAIN.

Overall ride was great, but I reccomend to do it in groups or in pairs at minimum. The instructions were very clear ,but it's very difficult to get out of the town given that there is no Uber service in the area unlike in Medellin so be prepared to either take regular yellow cab for 90,000 COP or a bus for about 4,000 COP.
