What you'll do

It is all about escaping the hustle, bustle and noise of the big city. Let me show you the true hidden gems of the Dutch country side. Just outside Amsterdam there are plenty of small villages with lots of history and traditions you don't even image. I will bring you to places no tourbuses can come.
First we will meet at the center of Amsterdam and from there we will drive to the lovely island of Marken. We have a short walk through the village and I'll explain some of the history. At the harbour area we can enjoy a drink an enjoy the beautiful landscape. After that we drive to a typical cheese factory where we will visit the stable and yes they have "live cows" in there. After that we will see a workshop over cheese making and of course you can prove some of the most delicious cheese in the world and have at their shop. After the cheese factory we drive to the windmills park. There we can see different kinds of windmills from the 17th century and golden age of the Netherlands. After walking around the windmills and the park you have some free time to take pictures and enjoy the views.
After this extraordinary experience we will drive back to Amsterdam to the meeting point.

I was a co-founder of a online travel agency in Amsterdam specialized in tailored city tours by car in Amsterdam and Utrecht.
So I have learned this last years a lot about the city of Amsterdam and her surroundings by visiting and exploring them. This has become my passion since then.
I'm always looking for the nicest and not common places to visit in The Netherlands.
I would be very happy to show you the hidden beauty of the Dutch country side through the eyes of a local.

We booked this experience last minute due to another company cancelling on us because of low numbers. We are so glad we had to reschedule and got to travel with Jarel instead!! From the very beginning, he was punctual, informative and extremely accommodating. My husband and I were the only ones on the tour, and Jarel not only kept our booking, but made it feel like a super special, exclusive experience. The tour started in a central location, easy to meet up. Jarel drove us to see a picture perfect town with windmills and all the clogs and photo ops you could wish for. We then went to a dairy farm for a personal encounter with the cheesemaking process, tasting and a brief cheese tour. We then drove through a picturesque village with gorgeous scenery and made our way to Marken, where we walked through the historic fishing village and stopped for drinks. After this, Jarel drove us back into Amsterdam to our starting location. The experience was almost exactly 4.5 hours, as advertised. There were plenty of spots with AC to cool off and plenty of toilet stops available as well. If you are looking for cool souvenirs, this is also the booking for you. We got some really nice stuff to take back with us and there was plenty of time to look around the shops. Jarel kept things interesting and was a great driver and tour guide. He shared personal stories and was extremely knowledgeable about everything we visited. We HIGHLY recommend this experience to anyone wanting to see a little bit of everything the Netherlands has to offer! Jarel was awesome and we would book again with him in the future.

My experience with Jarel was incredible. Even though I was the only person booked for this experience, Jarel still decided to take me on this magical adventure. The discription of this tour was exact, but we also took some detours so he could show me the countryside from a locals perspective. He was knowledgeable and excited to share a piece of the Netherlands with me. The fishing town of Marken was a real highlight and something from a fairytale. I met the cows that produce Holland's famous gouda and spent time feeding chickens and stroking Goats. The windmills were a sight to see and I was amazed at the beauty. Please do yourself a favour and book this tour, it was the highlight of my week in Amsterdam. Thank you Jarel

Fantastic tour! Jarel is kind and knowledgeable, and went out of his way to make sure I had a lovely day! The weather was nice, so we took a few more twists and turns in the towns to see some extra special sights. It's a comfortable and worthwhile tour to see outside of the city to real Dutch landscapes and towns. I highly recommend!!

I would not have easily found out about the destinations visited. I was really glad to get off the so called "beaten" track and see what was outside of the City.

Our family of 5 (kids 13, 12 and 8) from USA were looking for a memorable experience outside of Amsterdam to provide us a better insight into the Netherlands, the Dutch people and their culture. We found it in this memorable experience hosted by Jarel. Jared was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating, and our visits to Marken, the Henri Willis cheese factory and the windmills in Zaanse Schans were memories our family will cherish for a lifetime. Learning as well about how water has played such a unique role in Dutch history was fascinating. If you are looking for a nice complement to your Amsterdam experience with a excellent and friendly guide in Jarel, we’d highly recommend this adventure. An enthusiastic five stars!
