What you'll do

First, we're gonna prepare to make mochi. And explain how to make mochi.
sually we use tools for making mochi. But this time we use a machine to make it. maybe it's not a traditional way. But the machine is still working almost 40 years. I think it's also a traditional machine making.
After that, we're gonna make our own mochi and tasting mochi with some ingredients. We're also gonna make "Oshiruko". Oshiruko is Red beans soup with mochi.
If you had plenty, we can share them you can't eat during party. You can bring it up for your journey.
On December 31, trains will be working all night long. So you don't need to care about time!
The ending time of experience is about 9:00pm. But It's allowed to stay here after the experience:)
We're gonna stay here until midnight or morning on January 1, new year day. Let's enjoy together!
Other things to note
We don't recommend to join if you don't like share something like food, ingredients and tools.

Hi, there! I'm Issei. Every Year, I held Making Mochi Party with my friends on Dec 31. We use a electronic making mochi machine instead of traditional tools(Kine and Usu).
I want you to join the party on Special day. I'll teach you skills how to make mochi, what kind of ingredients are better for putting inside mochi. I'll provide you a Wonderful New Year's Eve.

And I have another Experience "Making tatami mats with a craftsman". Please tell me if you are interested in Japanese traditional culture"tatami".

Where you'll be

We use the guesthouse Fujitatami that reformed Japanese traditional house using tatami mats. I own and manage it. It's located in residential area of Osaka.
My father and me are craftsman of tatami mats. There is a workshop of tatami mats next to the guesthouse. So you can see the workshop. You might feel "Japan"!
