What you'll do

This spectacular trek with llamas and alpacas begins in Chinchero, a town located 40 km from the city of Cusco, a 1-hour road trip where our team awaits us with llamas and alpacas. Our walk will be 4 to 5 hours which is unique. where visitors can experience Peruvian culture and its past. On the way you will be able to enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the sacred valley, country houses, agricultural production terraces, mountains, glaciers and a beautiful lagoon of crystal clear water, much more, reaching the indigenous community where we will start walking on the way we will see, shepherds with sheep and other animals In the past, travelers used to walk with llamas to reach the valleys of Cusco, Puno, and Arequipa, passing the route by 4300m. Each section used to take between 7 - 10 days, the travelers took alpaca wool with them among others to be able to exchange (barter) with fruits and corn. The purpose of this walk with llamas is to demonstrate how the trips with llamas were many years ago Also on the way of our walk we will have a delicious Picnic with organic ingredients from the area after the Picnic we continue with our walk that will take us to the archaeological park of Chinchero and the colonial temple and at the end we will visit the textile center of my wife Margoth
Other things to note

A unique experience with nature. Reynaldo and Paulina were wonderful hosts. There were only 4 guests on the trek ( and it was a 5 mile trek!) so this made it even more personalized. A full day’s adventure!

Wow! What an amazing experience. Our host picked us up in the historic district and we went to a women’s center where they take care of llamas, alpacas, and guinea pigs and harvest the wool and create textiles. Amazing center and produce beautiful items. After spending almost a week in Peru we had no idea what goes into making the textiles. Items are for sale and they take credit cards and cash. The hike was amazing. The scenery was absolutely incredible. Hard to say if the alpacas/llamas were the highlight or the view. Very peaceful. The lunch was very delicious and of course had an incredible view. Option to try guinea pig for 50 s. Would recommend the trip. Always felt safe and was truly a unique experience. One item to be mindful of is the cost did not include transportation public or private. A few unexpected costs but totally worth it.

This experience was one of the biggest highlights of our trip (honeymoon aka Luna de Miel) to Peru. This experience tops our list, even more than visiting Machu Picchu :) Reynaldo and his cousin Paulina were so friendly and sweet. We had such a good time hiking through Chinchero. Beautiful views, kind people, and the cutest, most special animals. You could feel the connection the alpacas and llamas had with Reynaldo. Perlita - baby alpaca - was the best!! I miss her already. This was such a special, unique, authentic experience. After the hike (which by the way is an actual trek, be prepared!), we had a wonderful view of the mountains/valleys and a great traditional lunch! Corn, potatoes, tea, bread, cheese, & specially requested Cuy (traditional guinea pig delicacy). We did a tour of the ruins as well as a visit to a local textile center. We booked a private car to pick us up and drop us off in Cusco for an additional cost. I am already telling everyone I know to book this experience, it is unlike anything out there!! I am forever grateful. MUCHISIMAS GRACIAS y HASTA LUEGO!

A unique experience with llamas and alpacas. Don't miss the stunning view en route and the important session after saying goodbye to llamas and alpacas.
