What you'll do

This is a Family friendly experience!

If you don't see a date/time that suits you, contact me! We continue to work with various industry experts including NOLS, Global Rescue and the Wilderness Medicine Institute to develop and implement health safety protocols.

This can be your first time ever fly fishing or you might be a seasoned person on the river. This experience is for all folk! I've worked with folk from age 6-90!

Tenkara Flyfishing...Simplicity in nature. Spend a half day or full day on the river practicing the art of Tenkara flyfishing. With Tenkara, we use only the essentials making your fishing trip about the joy of being out there, fishing for trout!

Tenkara fly fishing strips away all the extras of spending time on the river and leaves one with a beautiful adventure.

Tenkara is simply a rod, a line and a hook. The cork-handled rod telescopes down to the size of a lightweight baton for easy transport. Uncapped, it extends to 11 to 13 feet. On the delicate rod tip is a braided nub onto which the leader is tied, usually a rod’s length of furled monofilament and tippet. The fly can be anything the angler wants to use.

If you are ready for an adventure, come spend time on the river, as we experience the Beauty of the River!

This experience was awesome ! Booking any activity for us sometimes comes with apprehension because my BF lives with a physical disability. He has to often set different expectations and adapt to activities, so trying new things can come with unique challenges. Shawn took Matthew and a friend visiting SLC on a private excursion. He was very thoughtful in planning, respectful and accommodating in regards to their unique needs as amputees wearing prosthetic legs. They loved learning Tankara, enjoyed connecting with Shawn, and being in a beautiful spot for the day. We HIGHLY recommend Shawn and any of his excursions offered! we were thoroughly pleased, sending our friend home with awesome memories of the Utah Wilderness.

Shawn is a wonderful teacher and really loves sharing his passion for tenkara. I've had gear for a couple years but rarely used it since I wasn't sure what I was doing. Shawn have me the confidence I needed to head out on my own!

I can't express how special this was.. from the moment I met Shawn I knew he was special.. he made me feel comfortable right away. His passion is undeniable and loves to share it.. after a quick lesson.I was on my own doing my thing. Wehad great conversation and he shared so many things I learned about fishing and the area that you could never find in a book.. it was worth every penny and more.. he even brought his Nikon and sent me loads of pics of me fishing.. don't miss this one.. that's he can fit you in.. not surprised he fills up quickly..I feel honored I got to experience this.

Shawn was amazing. He was early, he had a snack to eat, he had knowledge and he seemed to sincerely care that we had a good time and were GOOD AT IT! We shared stories and laughed, he also had a great knowledge of the area. It was great that he had rods for us and taught us about the rods themselves. He should be getting a sponsorship from Tenkara Rod Co. as he made me fall in love with them! A great experience if you're looking for something simple to learn, and a new hobby you might just fall in love with! Thanks Shawn!
