What you'll do
We begin in San Jose, Costa Rica by visiting the Central Park of San Jose, to later head to the Central Market where we can experience the rich dynamics of a place full of food, souvenirs, meat, fish, clothing, and more that attracts local and foreign buyers alike... there we will stop to eat a homemade ice cream from our well known Lolo mora shop, established in 1901. Our next spot will be visiting the Old postal building, landmark of eclectic architecture for the Costa Rican people. Our next stop will be Plaza de la cultura where we can see the National Theater, 1897 Costa Rican architectural gem, to then head to the Plaza de la Democracia where we can see the spot where the army was abolished in 1948. We then walk through the National Park and pass by the Metallic school and the old Railway Atlantic Station. To finally visit the historic Barrio Amon, host of some of the most attractive conserved houses from the 19th and 20th century, there we can see reminiscent styles of the Victorian, Colonial, neo classical and eclectic architecture...in this barrio we will have a delicious lunch to end our journey.
I am an Architect and a researcher on the field of bioclimatic tropical spatial design. And have a growing passion about the energy and essence of an urban city like San Jose. Its history, its art, people and movement makes it a living opportunity to feel the real experience of a developing city. I love showing the city around to people with the objective to share my knowledge about some great places to visit with the idea of leaving an amazing memory of a place I know and love.
We will be enjoying a delicious and traditional Lunch at a Restaurant in historic Barrio Amon.
We will be enjoying some delicious home made ice cream from the historic Lolo Mora IC shop, est. 1901 at the Central Market.
