What you'll do

The day begins meeting at 7 AM at Pathumwan Resort (near Phaya Thai BTS station) - or if you book a private tour, you'll be picked up then by your driver from the Siam World Heritage limousine service.

By 9 AM we stop at the Coconut Sugar Farm to view making palm sugar, help with the cooking, and taste the fresh cooked sugar.

By 9:30 AM we arrive at Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, made famous when James Bond floated through in The Man with the Golden Gun. Here you’ll have breakfast, tour the canals by paddle boat, and be given tips on how to bargain Thai style!

Next we head for the Maeklong Railway Market, the famed “train market” where vendors make way for trains to pass less than a foot away from their stalls; we'll be there for the 11.00 AM (coming) or 11:30 AM (leaving) train and time to wander the market or have a Thai massage if you like.

After the train market our last stop is Wat Bang Kung, the Buddhist "tree temple" which has been overgrown by banyan roots over the centuries to form a unique blend of nature, archaeology, and spirituality.

Finally we head back to Bangkok, arriving around 3 PM in normal traffic; expect 5 hours total driving - we go a long ways from Bangkok!

Sawadee ka! I have lived across Thailand from Bangkok to Chiang Mai to northeast Isan. I love fine arts and handicrafts - graduated in sculpture from Khon Khaen University - and cooking, which I learned from my grandmother a master chef in Bangkok. I also love traveling and scuba diving; it’s particularly satisfying to help plant new coral reefs in Pattaya.

For two years I’ve Airbnb Superhosted with my partner Alex and delighted in making new friends from across the world. That inspired me to create our tour company “Siam World Heritage” for our guests to savor the excitement of Thailand!

Kobkaew is a wonderful host with a wealth of knowledge to share about Damnoen and Thai history. She is a genuinely welcoming person who loves to share experience. Our interaction was wonderful and it felt like a private tour since it was only my husband and I on the tour on July 14th. Kat also has great energy and personality that makes the tour special. Only comment to note is that I wouldn’t recommend visiting the floating market at this time as 95% of the stalls were closed. We had a nice 40 min ride down the canal but only saw 5 shops open and 1 other tourist family during the tour. The place felt eerily deserted which was really disappointing. Also the coconut farm was closed so we didn’t get to go there (Kat told us coconut farm was closed at time of booking). So you won’t get the full tour experience. All this is by no means Kat’s fault. These places rely on tourists and with Thailand’s border still closed to tourism, many places aren’t operating as normal. If you are expecting to see a bustling and vibrant market to take great photos this isn’t the time for a visit. It might get busier on the weekends, maybe locals shop here too?Just need to manage your expectations when booking a tour. The train market was a great experience and we had a chance to get close and see the activities. Also easy to take pictures as there were only a handful of others around. I can highly recommend Kat for her friendly service and outstanding knowledge. Hopefully things improve in the coming months and there is more activity.

Absolutely a must do! After you’re done seeing all the temples of Bangkok, this is a lovely trip outside the city. The four stops were well planned and really a great addition to our travels here in Thailand. I can’t even tell you which one was my favorite. Kat is a wonderful guide. She gave us just enough information to provide us with background information and easily answered all our other questions. I highly recommend!!

SUCH a great tour! I really wanted to see both a floating market and the Maeklong train market while in Bangkok and this was perfect. I had a hard time choosing which floating market would be best, but opted for Damnoen because I wanted the busy hustle for photo ops, though I worried it might be too touristy. But since I went in the middle of the covid-19 epidemic, I was not only the only person on the tour, but it was extremely quiet at all of the locations. I can't speak for what it would be like in more typical conditions, but Damnoen was amazing - the system of canals spans far past the market scene and you take a 40 min ride through the neighbourhood of the people who work at the market. A lovely and very local experience. Kobkaew is an extremely intelligent woman with a wealth of knowledge to share about Damnoen and everywhere else, which was perfect because I like to ask a lot of questions. I particularly enjoyed the coconut oil refinery at the beginning of the trip - a unique touch. Everything was timed extremely well and I felt like I really got my money's worth. Absolutely book this tour! It'll be a highlight of your time in Bangkok.

Unique experience! Kat was an excellent guide. Kat provides knowledge and help that you wouldn't be able to obtain if you choose to visit these places on your own. Kat was flexible based on the interests and needs of our group.

I didn’t know what to expect on this trip but i will say it was one i will never forget. Kat did an amazing job making us feel like we weren’t rushed but at the same time she made sure we got to each place on time. Each place was very unique and something i wouldn’t be able to do on my own. Thank you Kat for an amazing time!

We loved our tour with Kat! From the moment she picks you up you immediately feel welcomed by her warm smile. Experiencing the floating and railway markets with her gave us so much more insight into the culture that we wouldn't have had on our own. She made the whole day so fun and took us to have some of the best food we had the whole trip. She also taught us some Thai phrases that we used throughout the rest of the trip and gave us shopping tips!
