Hi, I'm Mechy. Born and raised in the Hasidic community in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I know the people, the places, and the heart of this community and can take you places nobody else can, giving you an up-close-and-personal insider’s view of what life is like the Hasidic community.

The architecture, the synagogues, and the Jewish way of life are so rich in tradition, but so few outside our close family and friends get to experience it. I am passionate about my culture and the rich history behind it, and I want to share it with you.

Where you'll be

We will start the tour by walking to the old school buildings and explain what daliy life as a young Hasidic kid is like.

After we will walk down main street explain the life style in more details, see the shops, Judaica stores and have some delicious snacks at Kosher shops and bakeries.

Then we will watch live The Scribe Sofer write the Sefer Torah.

Mechy was very informative in showing us around Williamsburg and great at giving us his personal story with the community. It was wonderful to chat with him about his experiences and be shown around the neighborhood by someone with familiarity of the surroundings.

Incredible and in-depth experience: An amazing walking tour of one of the most unknown and closed off neighborhoods of NYC. Mechy was amazing at retelling the history and answering all of the possible questions we could ask. Most likely going to do it again.

It’s a very interesting experience which allowed me to learn more about Hasidic culture and tradition. I was lucky to go and see Mechy’s friend artist’s studio. Very authentic and unique.
