What you'll do
Starting from Gorran Haven with a short cross country walk to join the Coast Path above Hemmick beach, then walk on rugged terrain round the archaeologically interesting cliff castle at Dodman Point. Returning above the stunning Vault beach to the harbour at Gorran Haven for the end of this 4 mile hike. CEREAL BAR provided, included in experience.
You will need suitable clothing and footwear for rugged terrain and all weathers, a water bottle (1 litre is recommended) and a rucksack or other suitable carrier.
Other things to note
We have ample time to walk at the pace of the slowest group member and take photos of scenery, flora and fauna.
We explore a headland, but there are no alarming drops, scrambling, etc - just walking.

Former Duke of Edinburgh Award leader, Local Authority public rights of way team member and currently volunteer rep for the South West Coast Path Association, I am an experienced and passionate walker. I have good knowledge of local plants and wildlife to help you identify what you are seeing.
I love to share my home town and my home stretch of the stunning coast path with friends and visitors.
My family dates back in Cornwall to the 1500s and I have lived in Fowey for nine years.
I will lead you safely and keep you informed and entertained as we walk.

Where you'll be
We will climb gradually out of the village via a small wooded valley, crossing farmland as we head for the prominent headland of Dodman Point. We'll walk a short circular route around the cliff fort, adjacent to the Iron Age earthworks which formed its major defence. Leaving the huge stone cross which marks the headland for shipping, we continue on the South West Coast Path above Vault Beach and gently descend to the village once again.
