What you'll do

Participants will have small classes teaching them how to use their personal cameras. I will meet with individuals or a group smaller that 6 participants and take them on a hands on photo safari in the Smoky Mountains while teaching them how to operate their camera. Class time runs about 1.5 hrs then we break for lunch at a delicious local BBQ house.
The safari will last 1.5 hours. It will begin with an overall class of how camera operations interact. Basically how to come away from auto setting and get the best images by using camera controls. We then practice camera operations. After that, we hit the road (trails) to photograph the best souvenirs - their own personal photo creations. They take home new knowledge, personal images, and a new appreciation for the art of photography.

I also offer stays at our Airbnb as an option. It was the first resort in Sevier County in 1884. The original cabin that remains is located on Historic Seaton Springs 11 acres. A cantilever barn built during that time, a log structure, babbling creek, and a small lake also occupy the private farm.

I am a co-founder of Historical Seaton Springs Farm and Event Center in Sevierville, Tn. We are closer to Pigeon Forge and nestled in the fabulous Smoky Mountains. I am a professional photographer with over 20 years experience. A former member of my home state, Georgia Professional Photographers Association. I had continuous training with them for years after receiving my photography Certification with Clayton State College.
After purchasing Seaton Springs, built in 1884 and listed as a significant fixture in Sevier Co, I am combining my last 4 years experience as a wedding planner .

We learned a bunch. Being able to learn and practice the skills immediately really helps. Great experience. Would recommend to anyone that wants to learn about photography. The food was also really good.

My boys loved the class! They each learned new techniques and gained a better appreciation for outdoor photography. It was a great afternoon for them. The property was amazing. Thanks so much!!

I highly recommend this experience! Personal one on one instruction, very knowledgeable instructor and great locations. I had a very enjoyable time getting to know Syresa and learning new ideas on composition and framing shots. I already knew how to use most of the features on my camera, but lacked the creative side of it, how to creatively compose shots, how to recognize out of the ordinary perspectives. Syresa was great at that, encouraging me to walk all around the various locations and really explore. I had a great time and got some great shots that I never would have achieved on my own.

This experience was amazing. I came in with an eye for composition but zero technical skills and left feeling like I really understood how to use my camera finally! The beauty of the locations were very inspiring and made me want to spend the rest of my trip running around with my camera!

This was a very unique and just awesome experience. Syresa begins the class in her beautiful, historic and cozy home. She has the ability to help you understand the camera operation in a fashion that suits your learning style. We had a nice lunch and then went to the field to practice what was taught. The scenery was beautiful and she assisted with camera operation in the field to obtain the most magnificent pics. By far, the pics taken after her class are the best that I've ever taken. I'm still learning but gained a tremendous amount of info from Syresa.
