What you'll do

Update on Coronavirus: Yes, I am accepting bookings and yes you are safe! Tastings are held in small groups, and I take every precaution possible to ensure a clean and safe environment.

The best part about this experience? It's casual, laid back, down to earth and not stuffy. We'll hang out in a chic and intimate space, dead centre in downtown Toronto, tasting outstanding wines, while you nibble on scratch made food: locally sourced honey, freshly baked pumpkin seed crackers, pork pâté, roasted garlic is what you can expect. I love to cook and pair it with great wine, especially with new people - a big part of this experience is getting to know each other, so I strongly encourage you to relax, enjoy and treat it as though you're kicking back with friends.

I'll introduce you to a flight of wines - all poured blind. Blind tasting is a great way to remove all bias - while you might think you love cabernet sauvignon from Napa - maybe you like pinot noir from Ontario even more! I won't show you the label, or tell you where it's from. All you'll see is what's in your glass - it's just your palate deciding whether you enjoy the wine or not, not your ego, or what your "wine expert" friend told you "is the best".

You’ll be trying some really fun stuff, and I'll share all the stories that go with them!

Update on Coronavirus: Yes, I am accepting bookings and yes you are safe! Tastings are held in small groups, and I take every precaution possible to ensure a clean and safe environment.

I am a wine professional based in Toronto. I work as a freelance consultant, splitting my time writing about wine, hosting private tastings, operating my wine club "Crushable", and managing my bi-annual wine conference "Sensory Symposium". So, suffice it to say - I like wine! I really enjoy sharing the wines I have the opportunity to taste with people - especially visitors or tourists new to Canada who haven't had the chance to try the amazing caliber of wines we are producing here. Canada is exploding in terms of quality and producers - it's an exciting time to be here.

If I could give this experience more than 5 stars I would. My wife and I were celebrating her birthday and the experience that Laura provided was a fitting end to an amazing day Laura is very knowledgeable about wine, and the culture behind it. She provided a very refreshing dose of knowledge about the wine industry and opened our minds to a very down to Earth approach to enjoying wine. Initially my wife and I had some skepticism about the idea of drinking wine with a stranger in their home as we’re both fairly introverted individuals. But 10 minutes into the experience that feeling quickly dissipated and Laura was no longer a stranger. Her welcoming personality became its own ice breaker. If you’re even remotely curious about wine or you just want to try something new, we highly recommend paying Laura a visit.

Laura was so knowledgeable about the wine industry and taught us so much. Every wine she introduced was delicious and the charcuterie board she prepared was a beautiful touch. If you’re looking to taste some delicious wine and have great conversation about the ins and outs of the wine industry i would completely recommend this experience. As an early birthday present my mom absolutely adored this.
