What you'll do

For your experience, we will meet at the entrance of Mismaloya Beach, seven-miles south of Puerto Vallarta.

First we will introduce you to the water with an introductory safety lesson on your preferred equipment. Then we'll hop on our boards and/or kayaks and paddle about 20-30 minutes from Mismaloya Beach to Los Arcos Marine Park.

Imagine gazing over the Pacific ocean as golden light reflects back onto the rocky cliff faces of Los Arcos National Marine Park. Thousands of endemic birds who have nested there suddenly take flight and circle high into the sky above you. We share information and stories of this magical place you are visiting, as well as fresh water and an energy bar for nourishment. Before dawn or after sunset, you'll look down from the star filled sky to see that the waters have come alive—you’ve been gifted a chance to observe bioluminescent waters around the sea caves and grottos of Los Arcos. Once we've wrapped up our time at the park, we'll make our way back to shore.

This Bioluminescent eco-experience is a once-in-a-lifetime experience not to be missed.

Please note: the different times on the experiences offer the best time to observe the bioluminescence. WE OFFER A SUNRISE & SUNSET SESSION EVERY DAY—IF IT DOES NOT APPEAR AVAILABLE, MESSAGE ME TO CHECK!

Where you'll be

Where the Sierra Madre mountain range meets the beautiful blue waters of the Pacific Ocean, Mismaloya is a small fishing village found seven miles south of Puerto Vallarta—a beach town boasting spectacular views of the natural wonders of Los Arcos Marine Park.

We'll start and end the experience at Mismaloya Beach. And during the trip, we will visit and explore the islets of Los Arcos by paddle board or by kayak.

It was absolutely magically. Phillipe was our instructor and he was lively and wonderful to be around. He inspired connection with the water and told stories. He made the experience comfortable and exciting. It was a once in a lifetime experience, paddling out and watching the sunset by the islands. As the sun goes down the water literally comes to life. The stars in the sky get brighter, as does the water, the more the night takes over. It felt like flying through the sky, and I would splash the warm ocean water on my legs to see them light up. I’ve never kayaked before but felt completely at home. However, for those who are prone to sea sickness, or are not experienced, please note that you do make your way back to the shore in the dark of the night. It’s what you have to do to experience the bioluminescent waters to their fullest. If the thought of paddle boarding or kayaking in the dark worries you, maybe get comfortable with the water during the day time before going on this venture. If you can though, it’s euphoric and even life changing. It was for me :)

One of the most amazing experiences I have ever had in my life. Our guide Felipe was incredible, the tour is beautiful we saw the sunset, beautiful birds, a lot of stars once it got dark and so much of the bioluminescent, which is something I wanted to see for years. We felt like we were out of this world in some magical land, it was perfect. I will definitely do this tour again this is a once in a lifetime opportunity not to be missed.

This was an amazing experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable adventure. We booked the p.m. kayak tour. The scenery was amazing. We saw an amazing sunset, lots of wildlife, birds, sea turtles, fish and even a whale in the distance. When the sun finally set, we were able to see the bio-illuminesence which was also awesome. Felipe was an amazing host and very knowledgeable about the area. When I come back to Puerto Vallarta I will definitely book the a.m experience.

Being the last activity and very last minute impulse purchase on our trip we couldn’t be happier to do it. It was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. Our guide was Felipe and he is the coolest water expert you’ve will meet. I was impressed with so many things about this activity. Will be doing it again on my next visit. One last thing, jumping in the water late at night is scary but make sure to do it. It’s worth conquering the fear.

My brother and I did this adventure with Alberto’s company. Gio was our guide. He was encouraging and always made sure that we were okay. I’m a bit afraid of the water so kayaking at night in the ocean was a bit apprehensive for me. Was trying to conquer my fear and was glad I did it. It was a good experience overall. Kayaking for about 4 hours definitely tires you out but we managed. The guide will check on you often and will make sure you’re rested and okay. After the tour, I forgot my GoPro in the kayak and Gio was kind enough to drop it off at the hotel on the way home. That was much appreciated (Felipe and Alberto helped with the communication and made sure it was dropped off). These guys run a really good show and I would definitely recommend them. Bioluminescence is something I’ve been wanting to do for years now and finally did it. Thanks again Alberto, Felipe, and Gio!!
