What you'll do

For your experience, we will meet at Paddle Zone: our shop located seven-miles south of Puerto Vallarta on Mismaloya Beach.

First we will introduce you to the water with an introductory safety lesson on your preferred equipment. Then we'll hop on our boards and/or kayaks and paddle about 20-30 minutes from Mismaloya Beach to Los Arcos Marine Park.

Imagine gazing over the Pacific ocean as golden light reflects back onto the rocky cliff faces of Los Arcos National Marine Park. Thousands of endemic birds who have nested there suddenly take flight and circle high into the sky above you. We share information and stories of this magical place you are visiting, as well as fresh water and an energy bar for nourishment. And after dusk, you'll look down from the star filled sky to see that the waters have come alive—you’ve been gifted a chance to observe bioluminescent waters around the sea caves and grottos of Los Arcos.

Once we've wrapped up our time at the park, we'll make our way back to shore to relax and enjoy some refreshments, while you have a chance to check out the photos we took on the water.

Our Sunset Session and Sunrise session is a once-in-a-lifetime experience not to be missed.

Please note: the different times on the experiences offer the best time to observe the bioluminescence. WE OFFER THE SUNRISE & SUNSET SESSION EVERY DAY IF IS NOT AVAILABLE JUST LET ME KNOW!

Where you'll be

Where the Sierra Madre mountain range meets the beautiful blue waters of the Pacific Ocean, Mismaloya is a small fishing village found seven miles south of Puerto Vallarta—a beach town boasting spectacular views of the natural wonders of Los Arcos Marine Park.

We'll start and end the experience at our surf shop on Mismaloya Beach. And during the trip, we will visit and explore the islets of Los Arcos by paddle board or by kayak.

What an experience! Amazing hosts that were with you along the way for a comfort of safety yet still gave you the freedom to roam around a bit. Waves can make it a little difficult at the start but once you watch the sunset, they all disappear. Then you can see the stars emerge and the bioluminescent sure begin. 10/10 recommend.

Truly an amazing experience! Our guides were professional, friendly, and made us feel safe at all times. We saw a breath taking sunset, a sea turtle, whale, and then the beautiful bioluminescence. Afterwards we were greeted by our hosts with sliced fruit and hot chocolate, a welcome treat after our kayaking trip. Thank you, Gallo, Gio, and Avi! Would highly recommend this experience.

This is such a magical experience! It was definitely the best part of my trip. The sunset was incredible, and the bioluminescence made you feel like you were in another world. Our guide was so friendly and helpful. Would do this tour again in a heartbeat!

This was truly a once in a lifetime experience- and the highlight of our trip to Puerto Vallarta. There are a number of excursions you can do while there, but Alberto and Avi led us on a tour that we would likely be unable to do anywhere else. It's easy to Uber to the location from anywhere in Puerto Vallarta, and we found the surf shop easily with their clear instructions. Be prepared to be on the water for all three hours (it does get tiring), but it's so worth it. Being on the water at night was an otherworldly experience, and Alberto and Avi made sure we felt incredibly safe at all times. They were very professional in leading the tour and caring for each member of the group; they were prepared to handle any situation and easy to trust; and both of them were incredibly warm and knew so much about the wildlife that we saw. An unforgettable experience (and if you go on the night tour, you should go to Pancho's Tacos after- a stellar Alberto recommendation).

Andrés, Gallo, and Abhi were very kind to us and stayed with members of our group who were slower than the more experienced kayakers/paddleboarders, which was kind of them! They also were sure to learn our names, which made us much more comfortable when they instructed us on how to properly kayak/paddleboard through the parts of the water that had stronger currents, such as inside the caves. Overall a magical experience that wouldn't have been the same without our phenomenal guides.

Just go on this experience. I’m not a water sports person, but wanted to try something really special and this was the perfect choice. Felipe was an amazing guide - he was genuine, funny and let us know what we were doing every step of the way. He pushed me out of my comfort zone, but I never felt unsafe or worried. We ended up having a once in a lifetime experience and it made our trip! Stop in and say hi to Frank, too - he was a huge help with tons of personality.
