Enjoy a hard-earned chef-prepared feast at the top of a hidden Colorado Canyon.
Gregory Canyon is a gem. This spectacular hike is a strenuous workout limited to the physically fit. It's every bit as beautiful as the other better-known area hikes but because its trailhead is tucked away, it is a private oasis, even on a crazy summer or fall weekend day.
We'll meet at the Chautauqua Ranger's Station where I'll guide you further up the canyon to the trailhead.
Immediately, we'll begin our journey with a steep ascent, traversing a small creek, climbing a series of large rock boulders forming a natural rock staircase straight up the canyon.
After roughly a half mile climb we'll come to a ladder, bolted securely into rock to safely traverse the steepest portion of all. From this vantage point we can see back into the canyon with miles of views, and hike up a large grouping of boulders as our final climb and resting place.
Best yet, I'm a professional chef so we'll celebrate at the top with a custom prepared well-deserved feast!
PLANNED MENU:
Curried chicken salad, tart apple, lime, & roast pecans over fresh arugula
Mini chocolate pots de crème
Medjool Date and Macadamia Balls
*Vegetarian available
Other things to note
This hike is difficult and at altitude. It's a really fun challenge but can be tough, even for someone quite fit. 6.4 miles with 1490 feet altitude gain. Get ready to sweat!

I grew up in the heart of Alaska with a river for a playground and a boat for transportation. I'm still happiest and most at peace in the mountains, climbing up the edge of a mountain or basking in sunshine along the edge of a river, taking in the sounds and crisp, fresh air.
To say I'm an outdoor fanatic would be an understatement. I know every trail around, inside and out, and still revel in the spectacular beauty all within a quick drive's distance.

Where you'll be
If you come to Boulder, you'll hear about the ever-popular, Mt. Sanitas and Royal Arch trails. They are hard, fun and accessible, but also crowded. Not exactly they commune with nature I crave when getting away.
Gregory Canyon, on the other hand, is far less known and harder to find. It remains a hidden oasis, close to Boulder but tucked away. With an initial steep boulder climb, rope ladder and spectacular vistas, it honestly can't be beat

Robin was an incredible host and this was an amazing experience. Our trip was up in the air due to fires in the area but Robin did an incredible job at keeping us in informed on weather patterns/air quality and prioritizing our safety. She was so accommodating and gave us the option to reschedule our trip or even cancel it if need be. We ended up moving it to the day after we had planned and it couldn’t have been nicer. Robin was so friendly and clearly very knowledgeable about what she does. We felt very safe with her. The views are incredible and her stories are so entertaining. I highly recommend doing this!!

This is one of the best hikes I have ever done! However, it was challenging even if you are in good shape. Robin made sure to prepare us for what we were going to experience and made sure we were comfortable the entire hike. The snacks and lunch were OUT OF THIS WORLD AMAZING. Robin is an amazing cook and an amazing guide. Would recommend to anyone able to do this hike.

I 10/10 recommend this fun experience. It was truly amazing! This hike is not easy but I can promise the views are worth it. Even though I wasn’t in the greatest of shape Robin was sure to accommodate that with a few breaks. Also, Robin is a wonderful cook and the food was awesome!
