What you'll do

☆Experience a Shamisen in Kyoto, the home of traditional musical instruments☆ 1 hour lesson
Safety lesson limited to one group per day.
Therefore, I recommend that you apply early.

Shamisen is a Japanese traditional instrument that resembles a guitar. The sounds play by the three silk strings are very beautiful and cool.
It's a bit difficult, but everyone will surely feel fun.

I am a professional musician who has been teaching for 27 years, so even beginners can enjoy playing.

◇First, learn the basics of Syamisen.
◇Next, we will practice the traditional Japanese song.
◇Finally, you play the Shamisen duo with me. Please take a video to commemorate.
If you can play it well, you can do an ensemble of your shamisen and my koto. Let's try it!

◇The venue is a traditional house in Kyoto, where you can see a beautiful view of Nijo Castle from the window.

After the experience, it is tea time with green tea and traditional sweets. While enjoying drinking tea, you can enjoy traditional Japanese manners.

* Here is a very precious traditional Kyoto architectural residence, built 90 years ago. Because it is a private residence, travelers can not usually enter. Only experience guests can enter the house specially.

The venue is in front of Nijo Castle, very accessible place.
5 minutes walk from Nijo Castle main gate.

Awesome experience. I had no experience with any string instrument and she got me playing pretty quickly. It was a really time. We were learning music and the history of the instrument, but there were a lot of laughs throughout

Sachiko-sensei provided a wonderful experience and opportunity to learn how to play the Shamisen. I had a fantastic time and learned how to play a song in just one session. Highly recommended and I’ll definitely come back for another lesson when I’m back in Kyoto!
