What you'll do

We'll start with a half hour presentation talking about the bees themselves and the details of how the hives operate as well as a break down of all the tools and equipment that we will be using throughout the demonstrations. After that we suit up and head into the yard for the next hour. We'll take you to our hives, open one of them up and do a full breakdown of what's inside as well as run through our typical routine for that time of year, be it inspecting the health of the hive or locating the queen. Giving everyone a detailed look into a day in the field for beekeepers for that time of year. For our final half hour, we will return to the farm and walk through the process of extracting honey from the frames, such as uncapping and spinning, and winter prep.

I'm co-founder of The Bee Spot, beekeeping for 3 years and running 60 hives! Selling our product led to opportunity to educate people who are curious about bees and so we decided to open our farm, develop an interactive and fun introduction to the hives and bees to share their importance. after 30 years of supply chain and customer service management mostly in the food industry, came across bees, fell in love! I took a ton of training, volunteered at one of the largest suppliers in canada, got involved with local and provincial beekeeping organization and have an on-going mentor.

What to say about The Bee Spot; such a bee-utiful experience/adventure. From the minute we stepped out of the vehicle we felt welcomed and comfortable from Nadines glowing smile and personable/fun nature. Nadine is incredibly knowledgeable, super informative and respectful. She shared all the Health and Safety guidelines so we were protected and safe. We were provided with the Beekeeping tools and suits to keep us protected from these gentle, kind and humble honey bees. We really enjoyed seeing Nadines passion for being a Beekeeper and how much she loves her bees and genuinely loves helping them thrive in their hive(s). We learned about the Bee Hive Boxes and what to expect throughout the Beekeeping process like; the versatility, honey harvesting, minimal disturbance, temperament, bee roles, production, design, setup, transportation and material quality. Any and all questions were answered with buzzing details so that all person(s) understood. This was such an incredible experience with The Bee Spot and I will definitely recommend this adventure to anyone. Thank you The Bee Spot and Nadine. Stay Safe and Beehive! ;) - Jeremy

A level of detail and fascinating facts more than we expected. Janine doesn't dumb it down and her love of her craft shows clearly.

This was a really great experience. The host (Nadine) really knew how to present the subject to the audience, and was willing to take and answer questions as they came up, rather than give her prepared presentation and keeping the answer to the end. It made the presentation dynamic. Highly recommended.

We had so much fun, and learned something too. Nadine is a fount of information about bees. She ansewerd all our questions in her presentation and there were many. It was so interesting to inspect a hive, nothing I'd ever thought would happen. And to see , up close the activity and how to identify a queen, a drone , amongst the workers. Busy as a bee all makes sense now. I very much rexommend the Bee Spot

A great true bee experience, Nadine is very knowledgeable and welcoming, she introduced us many foundation knowledges before the "get closer to the bees", it was such a magical moment when the bees are so close to you and you feel completely safe and comfortable. Would recommend the experience to anyone.
