What you'll do

Impressive view of the rainbow mountain glacier of the Andes mountain range, where this wonderful natural formation is located at 5030 meters above sea level. We started this activity inCusco city at 4 am in the morning by bus, going approximately 2 hours to the smoll comunite of Cusipata, where we have breakfast and then continue for 1 hour with the trip by bus and getting to the starting point of the walk which is at 4400 meters above sea level and we began to ascend slowly.
We walk approximately 3 hours and reach the view point which is at 5030 meters above sea level from where you have a beautiful view of the mountain and the landscape of the red valley due to the large amount of minerals found in the area. and after this. and a wonderful view of the snowy mountain Ausangate which summit is at 6271 meters above sea level and the rainbow mountain, we return descending for about 1 hour and half to the starting point of the hike to board the bus and go to the lunch place in Cusipata and then we return to Cusco city arriving approximately at 4 pm.

Other things to note
the walk we are doing between 4400 meters above sea level until 5030 and it is possible that we have some altitude sickness like soroche, or headache, thatswhy we are carring the oxygen and medicine for the altitude.

Increíble! Muy buena personalización! Totalmente recomendable. Todo fue puntual, buena comunicación y el lugar espectacular. Recomiendo usar caballo para que al llegar a la cima no haya tanta gente!

Great experience, even though the snow did not cooperate. Regardless, still a beautiful place to trek and wonderful views all around. Highly recommend!

Everything was good. But my partner had a terrible headache and the guide didn't have the first and kit/oxygen - it could be improved.

This is a great value. I didn’t go with Ruben but with Nico. The bus was comfortable and Ruben provided me with a blanket, snacks and walking stick before I got on the bus. Nico was kind and gave us a lot of information about the area. If you are in moderate shape, you can do the hike. There are horses going back and forth so at any point if you feel you can’t make it, hire the horse. Honestly, I was nervous for this hike but here’s the reality. It’s an hour of mostly flat with small inclines but it’s the last 30 minutes that is the hardest part. Normally, the last part would take you maybe 5-7 minutes, but due to the altitude, you literally can only walk very slow so it’s steep and you walk and take breaks- even avid hikers. All in all, do the hike! The Andes are amazing!
