I host this experience with my family, we’re from Soroa, so it holds a special place in our hearts. We have been living and working in the countryside for many years, that's why we´ll be able to show you and explain you all the particularities of the country living. We will give you access to different people and families and that's how you will be able to get different perspectives about the life in Cuban countryside.

Most of our family is still living in the area, there we are running a few projects to improve family and community life, and this experience is an important part of that. We believe that responsible and authentic tourism helps visitors engage with a deeper Cuba, and in turn allows for locals to further advance their work. Our goal is to help show off our community in an eco-friendly way to visitors from far and wide.

This experience was truly remarkable. We tasted so many delicious fruits, saw so many beautiful sites, and learned so much about authentic Cuban life. The farm to table restaurant that the family is building is both ambitious and beautiful, and it was wonderful to get insights into that process. I cannot explain how majestic the hike we went on was; at the top you have a 360° view of beautiful tropical forest and many species of bird. The food was humble and delicious, and if I’m ever back in Cuba, I would absolutely rebook this experience.

This was a wonderful experience! I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to see real life in Cuba. Young Jorge (there were 2 Jorges) spoke very good English and was very willing to share about all aspects of life in Cuba. He was able to translate for us with everyone else we visited, so we learned so much! Everything was well organized, and we enjoyed the varied activities we were able to do. The food made by Maria was exceptional. We looked forward to every meal! Very authentic and healthful. This was definitely our favorite part of our trip to Cuba.

It has been a while since I looked forward to write any review simply because this trip was amazing and I highly recommend anyone going to Cuba to do this trip. It is a very unique experience and what really made it especial is the people you meet who has open arms with a great smile. I can’t explain how the hosts hospitality and warm welcome made me feel, let us just say I did not want to leave at the end of the trip and Taxi was waiting outside of the house for more than 1 hr because we were having good time. P.S the meal I eat there were honestly one of the best meal I had in a while

I highly recommend both Jorge and this experience. Soroa is such a beautiful part of the island. It’s a hidden gem as it is not touristy and allows you to get an authentic sense of life in the Cuban countryside. The waterfall and views from high peaks are a must. Jorge is an amazing host - very knowledgeable and easy going, he makes you feel comfortable and involved in the local surroundings. He has a lot of knowledge about Soroa, its coffee culture and Cuba in general. This experience is definitely a must for anyone interested in coffee as you learn how it is planted and harvested, and meet local coffee makers who are really nice and open to answering all of your questions. It’s also a must if you want to see how the life of authentic Cubans is like outside of Havana. Jorge’s family was a highlight of the experience - they make you feel right at home, which is very clean, comfortable and serves very delicious Cuban food! Would highly recommend to anyone going to Cuba
