Miraflores, Peru

Experience hosted by Cesar

What you'll do

The meeting point is at “Terrua” coffee shop; our friends from Terrua are going to share with us their great passion for Peruvian coffee, this small taste is recommended for everybody. After this taste is time to jump to the city center using the “Metropolitano” experiencing Lima ́s public transportation.

At the city center, the walk will start around the “Mercado Central” where we can try a Smoothie made of “Lucuma”, another Andean superfood that you are going to love. For sure some other exotic fruits are going to call your attention, so let's try them too! Next to Mercado central is China town, we can stop to try different bites of the Peruvian - Chinese gastronomy.

After the “Mercado Central” and China town, the tour continues around the Congress Palace, on the way, there is the chance to eat some street meat and potatoes, if you want to try this you can, but you will do it like a Peruvian!

Finish the walk around San Francisco church to try some “churros” and our traditional Pisco Sour at the Cordano Tavern, one of the most traditional places around Government Palace with more than a 100 years old.

Before going back to Miraflores there is going to be time to take pictures at the “Plaza Mayor” of Lima and enjoy the architecture of the Cathedral and Government Palace.

I had a great time, Ximena was knowledgeable and easy going, I learn a lot about Peru’s culture and food . I love the street food and the sauces/spices. My favorite part is the fruit tasting. Time well spent with a great company! Definitely a must to do activity if you are visiting Lima.

This experience was a great introduction into Perú. We had just arrived in Lima the night before, so it was nice to be able to get a feel for the city with a local guide. The coffee to start was amazing and they teach you a lot about the process and coffee in Peru. We didn’t know much about Chinatown, so it was great to experience that and learn a bit about their influence to Perú. The churros were some of the best I’ve ever had and of course the Pisco sour is a great reward at the end of the tour. I would definitely recommend this experience!
