About your host

I am an avid hiker and love the outdoors. I have been hiking in SLO since I moved here in 2006, and have learned all of the trails in the area. I even started a hiking group on Facebook called HIKESLO805. It keeps people informed on upcoming running races, hikes and outdoor events. I lead people on hikes in this group, picking the best trails fit to their hiking skills and hopeful goals. (I…

What we’ll do

I like to personalize hikes to everyone specific needs wants (easy or hard trails - near the beach, seeing the green hills, etc). From there, we set aside 1-3 hours, pending the difficulty of the hill, and just hike and enjoy the scenery. I pack water, snacks, and any other necessities, and also double as a photographer. Sometimes we do quizzes on flowers/animals/insects seen (fun for kids). …

What else you should know

Please have a realistic idea of your hiking skills. These trails are rocky, uneven, and constantly changing. If you are unable to safely make it to the top of the hill, we will have to return.

What I’ll provide

Snacks
I will have snacks for people if they get hungry along the way (granola bars, nuts, and gels).
Drinks
I will carry water, about 500ml/33oz per person.
Equipment
I will have basic supplies of band-aids, sunscreen, and hair ties.

What to bring

Weather appropriate clothing and shoes
Addional needs (medication, walking stick, sunglasses)

Where you'll be

Each trail is very different and offers interesting things. It is important to have a local with you on some of the trails to ensure you don't get lost, don't hike at a time that is too hot, and have an overall good experience. If someone likes ocean view, I know the best trail for a nice ridge walk. If someone wants to see the 7 sisters, I know a great lookout for them to see them all. Please have your own transportation/ability to Uber/Lift

Guest safety

Outdoor activities carry risks, and you may be exposed to dangerous situations as part of this experience. Make sure you can participate safely given your abilities and the conditions (such as location, weather, and equipment).
