What you'll do

Take in stunning views of the High Desert of the Mojave, accompanied by goats.

We’ll meet our 24 friendly Nubian goats in their pens. They’ll wait for us to open their gate, and then these loving animals will show us the way. We’ll follow the herd at an easy pace into desert washes and onto boulders, where we’ll find beautiful spots to sit and chat—or simply gaze into the silence of the landscape, the gaping sky, and the goats enjoying themselves.

We’ll walk about three miles and return with the goats after the sunset.

I moved to the US from France over 20 years ago to pursue work as a yoga instructor and massage therapist. For the past 10 years, I’ve lived on a beautiful farm at a 4,500-foot elevation. Here, I take care of sweet Nubian goats all surrounded by granite boulders, Joshua trees, and piñon pines.
I care for this land passionately, and I love sharing the beauty of the high desert with friends and visiting guests.

The goats were awesome and very friendly and so was our guide. Not only that but the views and the ability to go deep into the secluded desert was an once in a lifetime experience.

Regis and his goats are the most pleasant hiking companions in the Mojave. Regis shares his knowledge of the flora and fauna of the land on a lengthy but relaxed trek, with a few vista points to stop and appreciate the scenery and catch a breath. He also offers complimentary tastes of fresh goat’s milk and tea brewed with plants native to the area. A wonderful, unique and therapeutic experience...the perfect way to spend an afternoon on the outskirts of Pioneertown. If you don’t already have an affinity for goats, you certainly will after spending a couple hours with this quirky flock.

Fantastic experience!! A+++! Regis was a wonderful host and expert wilderness guide. The goats were so fun and adorable. He also introduced us to his “rescue flock” including different beatiful breeds of hens, a gigantic turkey, and 3 peacocks! Post-hike, he treated us to refreshing drinks made from some of the native bushes he pointed out to us on the hike. All in all, a wonderful experience!

Super Fun experience, the hike was better than most personal hikes we took in Joshua Tree. But then you add the goats... and Joshua Tree cant even compare!

Such an incredible experience. Wow! I’m still in awe at how amazing this hike was. I’m from Los Angeles and rarely get to be with animals. 2020 was a rough year, I lost 2 family dogs back to back, so I really appreciated the love and affection I got from the goats, very unexpected. These goats are so sweet and the young ones were so playful and high energy. Our guide and host, Regis is awesome and knowledgable, I really enjoyed our conversations. He even offered us some delicious drinks after our hike. I had the lemon ginger drink. So good and refreshing. I absolutely recommend this experience. Looking forward to doing this again.
