What you'll do

Join us and our llamas for a 2-mile nature walk and explore the trails on our farm. We'll walk trails along our pastures and into the woods with your own llama companion. You'll learn the history of the camelid family, llama domestication, and how llamas and alpacas are used today.

We'll also have the opportunity to tour the farm facility, meet the rest of the herd, and learn more about how we prepare and use their fiber.

Other things to note:
* We reserve the right to cancel an experience in the event of bad weather - we will walk in light rain, but will cancel in the event of heavy rain;
* We do not schedule these walks in the middle of summer (July and August) as it gets too hot for the animals, but will add days from time to time over the summer as we check the weather forecast for cooler days.

Each child under 10 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and will share a llama on the trails with an adult unless they've had prior experience with handling large livestock.

Please do not ask to bring your pup as saying ‘no’ makes us sad.

For more than 35 years we have been raising, showing, breeding, and training champion llamas in Albemarle county, and were among the first llama breeders in Virginia, winning national-level titles. We regularly host llama shows and fiber festivals both on our farm and around the state.

Your hosts for the treks will be Paige and Steven. They began hosting and offering trekking with llamas in 2017 on their farm, and at local parks and trails.

This is our second time doing this-we absolutely love this outing. The llamas are wonderful, and I always feel so relaxed and rejuvenated after walking them. :) I also love that we learn something new about llama care, breeds, hair/coat types, etc., each time we go. :)

Wonderful experience for the whole family! Paige was so helpful in arranging our llama trek and Steven was so kind to us and the animals. Answered every question, told fun stories of the animals, and made sure we were all comfortable with our llama partners. Worth our trip for a special experience.

First Airbnb experience! Super fun- the llamas are so cute. Took tons of nice photos with them. The trail was great, saw some alpacas too, and Paige’s dogs are awesome.

This was such a great experience! All of the llamas were super friendly and calm, especially Source Code and Teriyaki! Steven was did a great job of explaining things to us during the walk, and we even got to pet and feed a pony at the end of the experience! Would love to come back and walk the llamas again!
