What you'll do
A visit to La Capitana provides visitors with the opportunity to see, up close, the life and care of the toro bravo, with deeply knowledgeable guides showing you the facilities and function of the ranch, from the pasture in which the animals graze, breed, and rear their offspring to the bullring where young bulls are assessed for fighting potential.
We will come to an end, with a tasting of olive oil, Iberian ham and wine. You can also have the opportunity to learn about the farming of Iberian pigs. With one of the finest groves of cork and evergreen oaks in Seville, our pigs have forage acres of nutritious acorns which form the bulk of their diet during the “montanera period” (October through February). These acorns give our 100% Iberian ham its distinctively rich and delicious flavor.
La Capitana welcomes everybody, adults and children alike to enjoy the natural environment of the countryside.

My name is Concha Murube, and I belong to one of the most traditional fighting bull breeds in Seville.
My father manages the breed “Murube” and my mother the breed “Algarra”, both heritaged respectively from their own families since generations.
We fight our bulls around the best bullrings in Spain, Portugal and France.
I am enthusiastic about the bullfighting world, and specially, when the bulls are breeded in their habitat, the countryside.
I would love to transmit my experience and eagerness to anyone interested in getting to know this Spanish tradition.

Breath taking views from the moment we turned onto the road. We were met with a rustic gate and behind rolling green hills with the Toro! The host is wonderful. Very friendly and inviting. She made us amazing espresso and then took us to feed these amazing animals. We finished our day with olive oil tasting, meat, cheese and wine. I couldn’t be happier to end our trip with a visit to the Toro farm❤️

Today was our last day in Sevilla and this trip made it fabulous. Concha’s sister Martha was our host and driver, and she was fabulous- very friendly and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the process of raising the bulls, had delicious charcuterie and sherry, and went all over the farm in a tractor/trailer to feed the bulls. The countryside is quite lovely as is the farm itself. Be aware that you will need to pay extra if you need transport to the farm, about 45 minutes outside of town.

Concha’s sister, Martha hosted our tour and was amazing. She is passionate about ranch life and was so accommodating towards our young children who really took to her and wanted to stay with her at the ranch! We thoroughly enjoyed chatting and connecting with her. So much so that we’d like to see their other farm near Cadiz when we visit that area.

Went with my wife and 9 year old
daughter. Marta picked us up near Plaza de Toros and drove us to the farm. Seeing the land go from urban to rural was great; by the time we were at the farm I felt very far away from Sevilla. After cookies and coffee, we jumped in the Defender and tooled around the campo, with dogs following close by. We got up close and personal (while in the Rover) with bulls of various ages, calves, horses, and some pigs. Then we got out to see some piglets - lots of piglets - and then back to the house for some wine and charcuterie. And then Marta drove us back to a restaurant she recommended near the Arenal.
This was a great day and all three of us had a ball. This is a working farm with several hundred animals on it and all the attendant smells and hazards (so look before you step!) and friendly people and dogs. A highlight of our trip to Spain and more than worth the money and time.
