Many travelers visit Agra as a quick overnight or day trip from Delhi to see the Taj Mahal—an experience that is absolutely worthwhile, as it remains one of, if not the, most breathtaking architectural wonders in the world. However, we were convinced there was more to Agra than its iconic monument. Eager to explore further, we booked a highly rated tour of the Old City that included its vibrant street markets and the magnificent 17th-century Shahi Jama Masjid—one of the largest and most beautiful mosques of its time, capable of accommodating more than 20,000 worshippers. Daniyal met us at our homestay, and from there we set off to explore. He was a kind and gracious host, and we thoroughly enjoyed every part of the experience. We highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to discover a deeper, more authentic side of Agra.
