What you'll do

★I will take you on a morning walk to visit traditional places in Sapporo. We'll eat breakfast together and you'll experience the common life with Japanese locals. Along the way, I will show you how to walk with good posture.
★ If you join me during the spring, I will show you Sakura spot and enjoy watching Sakura. You can enjoy Sakura end of April to first of May.
★We will begin by meeting in downtown Sapporo and we'll warm up together at "Sousei River Park". We'll walk around the local streets and the "Toyohira River", where I run along the riverside every morning, except during the winter. We'll find lots of local people walking around this area, and you'll say "Ohayou Gozaimasu"—good morning.
★We'll also walk along the side of the "Sousei River" and you'll feel that this smaller river offers a comforting view. After our stroll, we will visit the Nijo fish Market, a historic fish market established over 100 years ago. There will be a lot of good fresh food there and many morning restaurants and shops.
★ I'll take you to my favorite Japanese morning restaurant. Unfortunately, there is no English menu, but don't worry—I will teach you the real Japanese way of ordering food.

Where you'll be

★The Sosei River is one of the famous rivers where the local people like to walk. In the fall, as the salmon come back from the ocean, we call it the "Mother River." We will also walk around the Sousei Riverside and you'll see the view of the mountain in the background.
★Big beer fest is held in this area during the summer. After walking, we'll enjoy local food at the Nijo Fish Market, where there are a lot of morning restaurants and shops.

This was such a fun experience with Ken! The day I booked was the first day of the snow festival, so we also went to the Odori park festival grounds. The meal we shared together was traditional Japanese teishoku. While we walked, he explained the history behind certain landmarks and gave me recommendations for restaurants. This experience is a great way to start a morning in Sapporo

Ken is a very friendly and knowledgeable host. I enjoyed meeting him and the walk of the Sapporo downtown area, including the Niji fish market, were exceptional. Sapporo is known for it's food scene, and I loved checking out the shopping district and experiencing a local restaurant with Ken--the mackerel and rice dish were especially tasty! If you're in Sapporo, even it's only for a short visit, book this morningwalk; you'll be glad you did!

Ken is knowledgeable and friendly. He shared his personal anecdotes with us on Sapporo and was ever ready to answer our questions. He speaks fluent English and is always ready to make new friends. He was patient to help us find the location to meet as it wasn’t very visible on the car GPS and we ended up being slightly late even though the plan was to meet up earlier.

Ken's tour was excellent and well paced. He also gave lots of great local tips and suggestions when it came to what to do with the rest of our day and where to go to avoid tourist traps. Ken was able to answer every question we had and the breakfast at the end of the tour was delicious and a nice personal touch. Definitely a fantastic value and a wonderful new friend.
