Hi, my name is Bam Bi. I am an artist.

About me :
+ Winner of DeviantArt's Logo T-Shirt Design Challenge in 2011
+ Over 14 years of creative experience at XQ Hand Embroidery Company

I was inspired by my parents. When I was young, I heard many mythical stories about Vietnam. The stories ignited my passion to share with everyone the unique Vietnamese art - especially those that are nearly forgotten.

I hope we will have an exciting cultural discovery journey together in this workshop today.

Thank you Bi for hosting us and sharing so much about the Vietnamese culture & art. My boyfriend & I truly enjoyed our experience, our Non La's have been hung up our walls! Would definitely recommend this experience to others. Only thing I would note is: 1. The time stated on Airbnb is 2 hours but it would most likely take much longer than that. The process is tedious, so I feel it's good to expect yourself to spend about 3-3.5 hours there as you complete your project. 2. Upon booking the class, I thought that we would be able to personalize the Non La anyways we want but Bi told us that we were to follow a specific artwork from her (which was a doodle of a rat). Wasn't anything unpleasant or upsetting, but felt it should be stated clearer. Would be much more personalized and fun if we got to draw whatever we liked, however I do understand that it's a bit difficult for beginners which is why the standardisation.

Many thanks to Bi for making our visit to Ho Chi Minh so unique and unforgettable. Bi shared her vibrant cultural history with us through traditional art, music, food, and tea. Bi shares elements of her culture that maybe other Vietnamese have forgotten, or have been lost with time. She is knowledgeable, personable, and overall lovely. We cannot recommend this experience enough!

I got to the studio during the TeT holiday and Bi didn’t have a workshop that day. I told her that I’m leaving HCMC that night and can’t come back the next day so her and her partner set up the workshop just for me so I had the chance to experience her art and culture. She’s very knowledgeable about art and Vietnamese culture. She’s an amazing artist and a great teacher. The tea and cookies that she served were very delicious combined with music that she played, it was perfect and such a memorable experience.

I really want to say “thanks a million ”to bi, she is a genius to Draw many kinds of pictures. Proficient in music ,she works with high accomplishment and patience. Subverted my impression on Vietnam. She will communicate a lot of details and teach you a little bit, Although it has been a few days, I still miss that day.I can say that after this trip, Bi was the only reason bring me back to Ho Chi Minh City。 If you come to Ho Chi Minh, you have to come to see Bi for open artistic inspiration.
