What you'll do

We will meet at the treffpunk (meeting point) at the famous romantic zone "Basilio Badillo St.", where we will
take the urban transport to the hidden beach, and enjoy a characteristic ride like the locals do.

Once we arrive to the typical fishing town, we will cross a flying bridge that heads to the heart of the jungle, where we will do birdwatching and get to know a variety of species.

Our hiking has sharp uphills and downhills that will make you feel like you are at the rustic Lombard St, SF. After that we will reach the dazzling hidden beach where we will enjoy a unique spot that you will always remember.

Don't forget to bring a professional camera or at least your phone to take some epic picures!

Juan Carlos was super nice and amazing!! He was very patient and helpful with me as I had so many improper items! 1) I wore the wrong kind of shoes (toms, they were slippery), 2) I wore the wrong pants and kept getting stuck 3) I had a shoulder bag that weighed 25 pounds and should have brought a backpack. Juan ended up carrying my bag for me bc I just had too many wrong wardrobe choices, plan accordingly, put I did complete the hike and it was a great day! He also made some great recommendations for me in the city and was just overall so helpful! His English is super strong and I love his mission to save blue parrots in the jungle, you can tell he is so kind!!

JC is a great guy and really good host. He grew up where we were at so he knows literally everything to show you an amazing time. Highly recommend this tour, perfect amount of hike and adventure without being too intense.

Juan Carlos provides a great hike from Boca de Tomatlán to Playa Colomitas. What a beautiful, insightful, and fun adventure hike exploring local plants, animals, and ecology. At the end, you arrive at beautiful Colomitas beach and enjoy a local torta sandwich and snacks. A hidden waterfall is also nearby. He is a local who knows so much about local issues, real estate, and recommendathe best local, authentic restaurants. So glad to meet such a caring and sharing person.

We had a group of 9 girls for a bachelorette party and wanted an experience outside of the resort. This excursion was exactly what we were looking for! The bus ride had gorgeous views of the coast, the hike was just the right amount of elevation to get a little workout but still be able to chat, and the beach was a great spot to cool off in the water and enjoy a Michelada and plantain chips. But what really made this excursion special was our guide Juan Carlos. JC couldn’t have been a better, more engaging host. He is extremely knowledgeable about the jungle and the community, and you could really tell that he has a passion for what he does. Not only did he share information about all of the flora, fauna, and real estate that we hiked past but he also shared personal stories and gave us suggestions of other things we could do in town. We highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to see authentic Puerto Vallarta with an incredible host.

You can’t immerse yourself in local culture without booking a day adventure with Juan Carlos! He is a fantastic guide who takes you back to his fishing hometown- a humble and beautiful gem! In this journey you will experience more than a hike to the beach, but an opportunity to learn about the flora & fauna, wild animals, local fruits, even brief history of the town and river! Juan Carlos was attentive, thoughtful , and genuinely interested in making the group comfortable - both in English and Spanish. Please do yourself a favor and book yourself a day with him - he’s even great at responding right away if you have any questions. Happy traveling !
