I had high hopes for this as a ceramic artist. Our family has enjoyed some amazing Airbnb Experiences all around the world - this was not one of them.
The space was lovely and the hosts that greeted me were very welcoming and friendly. I knew that we wouldn't be able to do the whole process and, based on other reviews, I knew there were a fair amount of slides during the workshop. But, the amount of Kintsugi that I actually got to do took about 5 minutes. There was no opportunity to do intricate patterns or beautiful lines traversing the ceramic pieces, it's one tiny little area.
There is an additional charge to select vintage Japanese pottery, and an upcharge to ship it out of Japan if you are not staying in country after the curing process. This, after paying $200 for a 75 minute workshop.
I hate to leave a review like this because I really enjoyed the interactions with the staff and I love the history and ideology of this art form, but I don't recommend this experience.
