What you'll do

Explore Shinjuku on two wheels!

Why Shinjuku?
It is the most colorful district in Tokyo; Rich in architectural, historical and cultural charms with popular sites, including the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office, Meiji Shrine, pop-culture streets, etc. You can immerse yourself in the diverse cultures of Japan by just one day!

Why biking?
First, it's simply exciting to ride a bicycle in your strange place! Second, Shinjuku has a lot of interesting sites but is too large to walk around. By cycling, you can enjoy sightseeing while saving good energy for the evening!

Why Discover Tokyo?
We are experts of Shinjuku! We will take you not only to famous tourist sites, but also to small local shops, secret streets and our favorite restaurant, not on guidebooks. You may also try some peculiar snacks and Japanese traditional sweets. We like to share our insights about our life, culture, religions and so on.

Our safe Mama-chari bikes:
We have several types of bikes so you can choose. Among them, Mama-chari, literary Mom's bicycle, is a safe stable bicycle with a large basket. It is easy to ride even in a long skirt. We have helmets for your safety though it is not mandatory to wear.

We help orphans:
We donate profit to Second Harvest Japan, a foodbank, who use the money to deliver foods to orphans.
Other things to note
Cameras are recommended. All the bikes have baskets and fenders. Please let me know your food requests or any allergies. There will be no alcohol during this experience as we will be cycling.

I have lived in Tokyo for 32 years and in Shinjuku for 11 years. I like biking around Tokyo and know back streets, local shops and secret restaurants, which tourists would not find. This is why I came to host this tour to introduce unique and colorful Shinjuku.

I usually host this tour with my friends so you can communicate with more local people. They are also happy to explain histories, share their views and answer to your questions. We will give you more experience than when you travel with just Tripadvisor and Google map;)

I am a foodie and my favorite is ramen!! You can get a list of my recommended ramen restaurants after the tour if you are interested. If you need other tips for your trip, feel free to ask us!

Where you'll be

First we go to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building and look down Tokyo from its observatory. We bike through skyscrapers and unique buildings to the Meiji Jingu Shrine, stopping at a small funny candy shop on the way. Our lunch is at a yummy small restaurant, not on guidebooks. We explore Golden Gai, streets with unique shanty bars, and Kabuki-cho, the entertainment area. We may try Japanese sweets and visit a tea shop.

I would thoroughly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Tokyo. The cycling was fun and not too strenuous so you don’t have to be very fit to enjoy it. Everyone was very friendly, able to speak good English and to help me with my Japanese. The information about the places we visited was extremely interesting and the food delicious. It will be a highlight of my trip

Seiji's tour is a paced, fun crash course of some of the key Tokyo experiences. If you're looking to hit some of the best points and foods all in one, this is your tour. Seiji is incredibly fun with a big personality, and his love for what he is doing shines through. His tour guides-in-training that joined us were also absolutely wonderful additions to the tour as well. Don't miss out on the taiyaki, and even though I'm not really a dumpling person...those dumplings really ARE the best I've ever had. Seriously. Seiji's tour is worth every yen.

Had a great time on our Shinjuku bike tour. Our guides were really knowledgeable and good company. The Gyoza a lunch was so good and Golden Gai was a highlight. Meiji Shrine is beautiful too. It’s a good mix of traditional and modern Tokyo. The riding is easy and we did it with 4 kids aged 10-14.
