What you'll do
We will visit all Wicklow's famous and some less famous scenic locations. Driving from the city centre we will pas Kilruddery House, Powerscourt House, Enniskerry village, and on to the iconic Lough Tay, also called the Guinness Lake. We'll drive through the Wicklow Mountains remote Sally Gap and over the PS I Love you bridge on route to Glendalough Monastic Site. We will hear extracts from Irish monks from their meanderings in Illuminated Manuscripts from the 6th to the 12th Century. Battle of Glenmalure sight and hear about Wicklow chieftain, Feagh McHugh O'Byrne and 17th Century song, Follow me up to Carlow.
I am an opera trained singer and trad musician who grew up in Wicklow, I have been staging Irish musical history events (including one in Kilruddery House, Wicklow and Wicklow Gaol) and walking tours for 6 years. I will be sharing things with you I have learned and loved, off the beaten track locations, music, loads of craic, its all about fun and unique experiences on our tour with a free whiskey tasting and lots of stories and songs telling stories along the way.
