My 4th time at the Louvre Museum but the first time with a guide. I wanted a tour for my 16 year old niece who had just taken an art history class - but from a perspective of positionally and intersectionality. Feminists in the City provided that! We met our tour guide, Carmina at one of the museum entrances and had a smooth transition inside. All the directions on how to purchase tickets, etc. were very clear. Immediately, we enjoyed Carmina's warmth, humor, and intelligence- which was the hallmark of our tour. I'm a college professor and it's a good experience when I feel compelled to take notes! It was interesting to my mom (celebrating her 79th birthday) to my niece! I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants not just a feminist perspective, but an understanding of context and how art is impacted and shown. Carmina also did a good job highlighting toxic masculinity, art history norms when pieces were created, and trends that continue until today.
