What you'll do
Brewer and distinguished guide, Eduardo will be your host. You'll meet up outside of the oldest beer garden in Berlin and get to know each other before heading to a nearby craft brewery for special Berlin-style beers. You'll learn the basics of beer tasting and the history and culture behind the styles. You will get the chance to grab a more traditional Berlin beer while we explore what was once the largest brewery in the world and was important in the decline of German dominance in the global beer industry. Stroll through East Berlin neighborhood of Prenzlauer Berg to a popular craft brewery built on top another one from 1893. You'll have the chance to inspect some brewing kettles and understand the brewing process. You'll learn about the German Beer Purity Law and how it plays a role in today's beer industry while drinking a Berlin craft Weizenbier. Then a short walk to the last stop, a craft beer and micro-brew bar which has won awards for its trendiness and good beer. If we're lucky, we'll hang out with the people who run the place until the wee hours of the morning!
My good friend Eduardo and I built a beer tour which won TripAdvisor's 2018 Top 10 Best Beer Experiences Worldwide award and ranked as Berlin's best. After working with bars, breweries, and tour operators in Berlin, we have now started our custom tours. I have studied German beer history and visited some of the oldest breweries around the world, all after spending three years helping build craft breweries in Beijing. Eduardo speaks Spanish and English, works for a craft brewery on the east side of town, and comes highly recommended! We've been doing tours in Berlin for more than two years now. Our passion lies at the intersection of historical beer culture and modern local brewing. You'll be informed if it's him or I leading your tour. Whoever it is, it's a ton of fun :D
About 2 liters of beer is included, which usually divides into 5 or 6 different styles depending on the bars

Where you'll be
Each stop has cultural significance in Berlin. The oldest beer garden in the city. One of the oldest Pilsner breweries in the world and at one time, the largest. A cool hip craft brewery and beer garden built on the ruins of a brewery from 1893. A local shop that most tourists either don't fully experience or miss entirely. And a hip, kinda cozy, microbrewery heavily involved in the local craft beer scene.
