What you'll do

Hey everyone, the tour is back with a few new beers, one new venue, and a whole lot of passion to share! You'll meet up outside of a nearby subway station in the East Berlin neighborhood of Prenzlauer Berg and get to know each other before heading to a popular craft brewery nestled inside of one of Berlin's most historic breweries from 1893. You'll have the chance to inspect some brewing kettles and understand the brewing process while learning the basics of beer tasting and beer history, including the German Beer Purity Law. All while drinking a Berlin-style Hefeweizen! Then you will have the chance to get a "wegbier" while you explore the site of, arguably, Old Berlin's most influential brewery. Next, you'll stop at Berlin's only burlesque craft beer bar for a flight of local brews before finally stopping at our favorite craft beer bar in the neighborhood, right next to Berlin's famous Mauerpark. Both guides have been involved in the Berlin craft beer scene for the last 4 years and come with a wealth of insight! So, don't be afraid to ask questions!

Other things to note:
There are one set of stairs where wheelchair access is difficult, but doable. Spanish tours are offered, but please send a private message.

My good friend Eduardo and I built a beer tour that won TripAdvisor's 2018 Top 10 Best Beer Experiences Worldwide award and ranked as Berlin's best. After working with bars, breweries, and tour operators in Berlin, we have now started our custom tours. I have studied German beer history and visited some of the oldest breweries around the world, all after spending three years helping build craft breweries in Beijing. Eduardo speaks Spanish and English, works for a craft brewery on the east side of town, and comes highly recommended! We've been doing tours in Berlin for more than four years now. Our passion lies at the intersection of historical beer culture and modern local brewing. You'll be informed if it's him or I leading your tour. Whoever it is, it's a ton of fun :D

Where you'll be

Each stop has cultural significance in Berlin. The oldest beer garden in the city. One of the oldest Pilsner breweries in the world and at one time, the largest. A cool hip craft brewery and beer garden built on the ruins of a brewery from 1893. A local shop that most tourists either don't fully experience or miss entirely. And a hip, kinda cozy, microbrewery heavily involved in the local craft beer scene.

Amazing to drink some of the best beer in Berlin and learn about the history at the same time. Berlin at its core is unique because of its recent history and people. I was a solo signup in this group, which allowed me to meetup with other people. Highly recommended! Thanks Marck!

100% would recommend adding this to your list of things to do in Berlin. Great group of people and was a great way to have a more local experience of the city. Marck was really knowledgable and had amazing facts not only about beer but about the history of Berlin and it’s influence on beer too. Really enjoyed it and would do it again!

Great balance between fun and informative. Marck does a great job catering to individual tastes while at the same time providing exposure to beers that I certainly wouldn't be able to find or try on my own. The walks in between stops make for a good history lesson as well. Overall well-structured and well-thought out.
