Perfect for couples, families or other groups eager to ditch their smartphones, swing into the saddle and ride under the Texas sky! It doesn’t matter if you have never been on a horse before or if you have not ridden in years, our expert guides will start you off with an easy to understand lesson, ensuring that you will be comfortable and safe. No matter your experience level, you will enjoy the scenic views, fresh air and learning from our guides as they share their unique experiences as horsemen. The kids will love feeding their horse a carrot, putting on their own western bandanna that they will keep as a souvenir and demonstrating their cowboy skill on top of a gentle horse specifically chosen for their experience level.

Your hosts

With a lifelong passion for the outdoors and horses, Lem thoroughly enjoys hosting so many wonderful guests at Brazos Bluffs Ranch. With high bluffs, wildlife and scenic trails, you will enjoy a true Texas experience on horseback at our ranch! Ricky Bates is a lifelong horse enthusiast, holds a Certified Horsemanship Association certificate and loves helping our guests enjoy a fantastic Texas experience. Taylor Moseley graduated from Grandview High School in 2015. While in high school, she was active in the equine ambassador class of 2014, president of her 4-H group, a judge at horse shows and very involved in “Horse Quiz Bowl” and hippology- all events that test the participants knowledge of horses. Where you'll be

All of the experience is on our private, 300 acre ranch. We will ride from the barn off of FM 933 to the rim of the bluff overlooking the Brazos River. Meet at 7007 Gholson Rd. Waco, TX 76705.

Closed toed shoes and pants

More tips

Closed toed shoes are required. Long pants are highly recommended. Dress appropriately for the weather. Most people don't wear warm enough clothes in the winter months! We do have a bathroom and we provide water.
