About your host

I am the founder, designer and head maker of Amanda Field millinery. I adore all aspects of my trade. I recognise the importance of allowing others to find their innate creativity and thoroughly enjoy teaching others to create magnificent hats and headpieces.

What we’ll do

This fabulous introduction into couture millinery is perfect for any celebration (think birthdays, hen-parties or simply as a wonderful excuse to indulge in some quality 'me-time.') The course is set in the beautiful surroundings in the quaint market town of Helmsley. Your luxury experience will begin with a talk about the beauty, history and purpose of millinery. You will all individually begin…

What else you should know

Think about attractions you would like to see in and around Helmsley before arriving if you have the time. Close by there is the Helmsley castle and Duncombe park which are well worth a visit.

What to bring

Where you'll be

We will be in the Millinery studio where there will be a big display of the kind of things we create, along with all the fabrics, shade cards and components. The studio is a one minute walk from the market square where there are a variety of good British pubs and traditional bakeries and cafe's not to mention the old fashioned sweet shop. I will advise the guests to have coffee or cream tea at 'Manions' the best spot in Helmsley for a bite to eat
